Are you doing this in your comment section? 🫣⬇
Growing engagement is something we all strive for! After all, who doesn’t love a loaded comment section and rising likes or shares?
But are you risking good engagement with your responses?
Simply responding to your comments is the bare minimum. It’s essential to go that extra step to continue your engagement, and create an authentic experience and trust with your consumers.
You might think that as long as you respond at all to your comments that you are fine, but you are putting your business and it’s performance online at risk by not creating engaging engagement on your end.
What do I mean by this specifically?
The next time you go to respond with a heart emoji, put yourself in the consumer’s shoes and think about what you’d love in response to a comment instead.
Engaging copy is essential for social media success not just within your post put in response to your comments as well.
To create engaging copy, focus on using language that is clear, compelling and fits in with your audience. Most importantly, speak directly to their needs and desires.
In my example here, I show you exactly how to flip your response into something that is more engaging ⬇ ⬇ ⬇
In the first prompt we see this:
☕Emma: I love these!
☕You: Thanks!
“Thanks” is a nice response, but it is not ENGAGING. You left your consumer with nothing to respond back to. We want to create a thoughtful conversation with our consumers.
Try this instead!
☕Emma: I love these!
☕You: Thanks, Emma! Which is your fav?
We acknowledged your consumer’s comment with the same gratitude but made it a touch more personal by adding her name. We continued the conversation by following it up with a question to reel her in. This is engaging because she will hopefully respond in return.
Continue this in your comment section and I guarantee you will start to see a growth in engagement.
Always remember, each comment is a unique opportunity for you to connect with your audience. Never respond the same way twice!
What’s your favorite way to keep your consumers engaged?
