He's a month ahead!!!

The Year of the Phillies

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (AP) - With only thirty-nine days to go until the opening day of baseball, a good portion of the Delaware Valley is wondering what we can expect from the Phils in the 2024 season. Will this be the year we take it all the way home with a World Series Championship? If the proverb holds any weight, then the third time is a charm. What makes this season different for the boys?
It is no secret that the start of the last two seasons included a rash of injuries. Spring of 2023 started without Rhys Hoskins on first base due to a tear of his ACL in his left knee and Bryce Harper out after having Tommy John surgery in the off-season. This year the roster is full and healthy. That includes Brandon Marsh who recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. When asked the other day about starting on opening day, Marsh indicated that he is doing exceptionally well, recovery has been easy, and starting on March 28 is the plan.
In Clearwater, the talk among the team is to come out hot right from the start. Despite the trade of Rhys Hoskins to Milwaukee in January, Philadelphia’s core roster is intact and ready to go. Each of the last two seasons has started very slowly. The health and comfort level of how the players gel together suggests this year already feels differently.
After back-to-back seasons of coming up short deep in the playoffs, this team’s expectations, drive, and hunger have only intensified. Spring Training will be a process of working individually on things each player wants and needs to be a little bit better at. The cumulative goal is to take an effective and contending team and make it even stronger. The conversation of the post-season has already begun in Florida. The Phillies and a championship this season are a relevant and hot topic. Nick Castellanos stated that since arriving in Clearwater he has already been asked several times about a World Series win this year. Expectations are high and the Phils are in the conversation.

Absolutely PHANTASTIC W last night, boys! A Suarez 7-0 win with hits all over the place that included Stott, Bohm, Casty....and RoRo(Rojas).

Funny, I distinctly remember mentioning that this start this year looks real good...

Well, guess what? This is our BEST START in 6....SIX YEARS!
