Our sweet Joe 💙

Day after day, Joe waits. As of today, he has spent 904 days in the shelter — nearly three years of watching people come and go, hoping each time it might be his turn. During that time, our staff has cared for him as one of their own, loving him deeply, but nothing can replace the comfort of a real home.

Joe arrived at the shelter on July 21, 2023, along with his siblings, after his owner sadly passed away. One by one, his siblings found their forever families… and Joe was left behind. Not because he isn’t wonderful but because he needs a very specific home.

We know we’ve shared Joe’s story many times, but we will continue to post him until the right person sees this — the one meant for Joe. He deserves someone willing to look past the shelter walls and see the incredible companion waiting inside.

Joe would thrive as the only pet, ideally with space to run and enjoy life at his own pace. Although Joe has lived in a home with other animals, they were raised together. We have found that Joe now prefers to be the only pet in the household. He’s fantastic on a leash, does well with kids, and loves to do his own thing. He’s gentle, loyal, and full of quiet love. The kind of dog who just wants a place where he finally belongs.

If you think you could be that person — or if you’re even a little curious, please reach out or come meet Joe. After 904 days, he deserves to know what it feels like to go home. 🐾💙
