I gave several estimates for damaged church pews yesterday but while in the area I visited several other churches to see if I could be of service. I was appalled that on the advice of insurance companies and FEMA the churches were told their pews were beyond repair or a health hazard from mildew. Some of these folks took sledge hammers and axes to bust up and remove the pews. (now they are beyond repair). These pics show the pews demolished and stacked behind the churches. I inspected one such pile and to my disbelief found that other than the inflicted damage from removal all were salvageable and restorable to 100% which would have been a fraction of replacement cost. ..... my oh my, what a waste

I spent about 14 hours yesterday in Houston, Angleton, Sugarland, Dickinson and Alvin. Many stops where scheduled estimates for home damaged goods and Churches with pew damage.Some visits where spontaneous. The neighborhoods I visited were street after street typical of these pics. One area in the Sugarland area had over 1000 homes that received over 3 feet of water in their homes. I was dumbfounded.

As Peggy and I do the last-minute shopping in preparation for Sunday's dinner serving in Aransas Pass I want to reach out to Richard and Linda Jordan my long time friend and officiating buddy, Toni Alhborn, Peggy and her sister diane's longtime friend, Deborah Northcutt my big hearted daughter out in Arizona and Rudy Gabriellas one of our longtime karaoke crooners and friend. We want to thank you all so much for your very generous donations that helped put a really big dent in the cost of the this week's dinner.

Here we go again....
Peggy's heart isn't quite right yet so we will be doing a second feed this Sunday in Aransas Pass.
Anyone that feels the need to join us is so very welcome or even a small donation to help offset the cost of the grub would be wonderful.
Gotta love that woman.... such a big heart💓

For those of you that have Facebook friends from the Houston and other areas where flooding was an issue would you convey to them that we restore church pews and saved several churches the expense of replacement after Hurricane Ike in Galveston. We sure hope all our friends & customers weathered Harvey with minimal problems... We ask you please get the word out to those you know who may have sustained any kind of damage with wind or water to their furnishings. Don't be too quick to toss items thinking they're beyond repair. We do miracles here and for a fraction of replacement costs. Besides who can put a price on those family treasures with sentimental value. So please let us or other reputable refinishing companies see it before you make the choice to replace it.
