An official word will be coming soon from Sean Duregger and Encyclopocalypse Publications, but THE MOSTLY TRUE STORY OF RUDABAUGH AND WEBB will hit the stands August 13.

Now you can read the almost entirely true except for the parts I made up story of one outlaw's friendship with a lawman, and how they both effed up each other's game. In a story packed with gunfights, lynchings, murder, robbery, horse s**t, bulls**t (literally, there's a guy named "Bull S**t Jack"), fake news, Western Expansion, Mexican independence, mild romance, a chance for partly cloudy skies, jail breaks, train robberies, posses, chases, mob violence, and, of course, because he was there, Billy the Kid.

I am thrilled beyond the speaking of it to announce that after five years, William Richert's final memoir, EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE: THE WEST WING, THE WGA, AND THE GREATEST LITERARY THEFT IN HOLLYWOOD HISTORY, will soon be going to press.

(Ignore the misspelling below - this was a test cover Bill and I discussed and will be redone by the great Ryan Hose)

This memoir is a collection of Bill's essays discussing the theft of his work "THE PRESIDENT ELOPES", released as The American President without any attribution to Bill. The book also includes ACRES of proof that the WGA acted against Bill's interests by awarding Aaron Sorkin sole credit on the film, and used the basis of Bill's script to create THE WEST WING. Yeah, we have the receipts to back this up. Bill's gone, but there are wrongs to be rightened.

Some of this book was previewed in Exploitation Nation's tribute issue #14. The final version will run 200 pages, 8x10, b&w. An ebook version will be available as well. Look for an official announcement sometime next month.

The book I’m shopping around has some of my best and most absurd writing. One of my trusted readers called it “If League of Ext. Gentlemen had been directed by Chuck Jones.” I’ll take it!

While writing, I thought “I bet
Neil Gaiman would like this.” And that’s been kinda my bar.

Among the goofy things I did for my own amusement in my new book:

- Replicated Dante’s rhyme and metre for some terrible poetry
- Rewrote passages of Heart of Darkness in Walt Kelly swamp speak
- literally walked my characters through one third of The Garden of Earthly Delights

It's no secret that James Lorinz is one of my favorite actors of all time. I say that not lightly nor quietly. I'm excited as hell to be conducting the FRANKENHOOKER panel this weekend at Cinema Wasteland with James and Patty Mullen. As it is also no secret that I hold Frank Henenlotter in the highest regard and FRANKENHOOKER is a desert island film for me. Anyway...

To bone up (heh) for the panel, we did a little mini-Jimmy marathon:

FRANKENHOOKER, of course, but I could watch that during funerals. Incredible fun effects by the lovely and talented Gabe Bartalos and lovelier and equally as talented Gino Crognale.

ME AND THE MOB - aka WHO DO I GOTTA KILL? Reuniting Lorinz with Tony Darrow, his partner in the one-of-a-kind STREET TRASH. This film is also notable for Sandra Bullock's funniest s*x scene after FIRE ON THE AMAZON.

THE OVERNIGHT - is a pretty nifty indie thriller wherein Lorinz gives a restrained and sinister performance, something completely different from how you've seen him.

Also, while seeking my copy of SWEET LIFE, I ran down two episodes of the Valerie Harper series CITY, in which Lorinz co-stars with Sam Lloyd (Scrubs) as a security guard and has the best joke in one episode ("As a half-graduated student of the psychaiatric arts...") Bookwalter's return to theaters with SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY; newish cartoons from Robert Waldo Brunelle Jr; and a Forced Death March Down Memory Lane as we examine the output of Saturn's Core Audio & Video, keeping the First and Second Waves of indie film alive for new audiences. And more!

It's going to be a chock-o-block issue, over 100 pages, b&w print, full-color ebook. We're looking to "hit the stands" in mid-April.
