An unidentified man was injured and hospitalized Wednesday night following a Clark County Sheriff's Office deputy-involved shooting in the 2300 block of Northeast Everett Street in Camas.

Law enforcement responded to the area shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, following multiple 911 calls from residents in the area who reported hearing gunfire.

The Camas School District will likely need to cut its 2025-26 budget by 10-12% due to lower enrollment numbers (which equals less per-student revenue from the state) and increased operating costs.

Community members can share their priorities for the school district through the district's online community survey, which closes Wednesday, Nov. 6.

A Camas-Washougal fire battalion chief has been arrested for the murder of his wife.

Kevin West, of Washougal, was arrested Friday and charged with 1st-degree murder after the Clark County medical examiner ruled this week that the Jan. 8, 2024 death of 48-year-old Marcy West was the result of a homicide.
