Have you been to Applebee's lately? Oh wait, this is in their Hazel Del location, and you best believe the food and vibe is Top Tier. I ordered the special: asian inspired Pork Belly with Bok Choi, and he ordered the Ribeye with mashed and sub a side of mac and cheese.
The Ribeye was the best we've had in a restaurant, periodt
The Pork Belly had all the umami a hungry wolf could ever want.

I've been to the downtown Vancouver location many times, but now I know I don't have to struggle to find parking, and my anxiety appreciates that so much. It's worth the extra miles of driving for me. 🥹

Break the rules and feed your soul with a bowl of gumbo made your way because 2024 is nearly over, and you're tired of walking the line.

This dish is not traditional Cajun Gumbo, and it even breaks the guidelines of Creole since I added Okra and tomatoes, but no seafood. Smoked Turkey and Smoked Sausage with lots of spicy about the only thing I got "right" was that beautiful dark roux.

I can't explain the weird space I've been in the past few months, regardless of the struggles. There have been plenty of bright moments, like these, to be thankful for. This is my message to you to keep on keeping on. Especially when it's hard and feels impossible. Keep doing until you can't no more.
