Setting up my Queen Yard.
Love these two framers. Out of 15 Queen Nucs had 14 Queens emerge. I'm very pleased with the results. Going to build 100 of these 2 Framers. Between those and the grafting, I should be able to produce around 225-250 Queens per month.
Great thing about 2 frame Nucs is you can raise, store or transfer Queens to 5 frame Nucs. Build a Bee yard quickly.
It takes about 30 days per Nuc to have a Mated Laying Queen.

Since ancient times, beekeepers have been using smoke to calm honey bees. While it seems strange, blowing smoke into a beehive can save the beekeeper a few stings!🐝 Smoke interferes with the bees’ smell of alarm pheromones, which directly impacts their communication, and lowers the defensiveness of the hive. They can also become fixated on the smoke and the act of saving their hive from a fire instead of on the beekeeper. While this beekeeping custom has been in use for millennia, the effects of smoke on honey bees are temporary and quite useful to the beekeeper checking hives. 💨

Honeybee making some wax flakes. It takes 12 hours for one bee to make 8 flakes. It takes about 500,000 flakes to make 1lb of wax. These creatures are pretty amazing!
