Two Vehicle Traffic Collision Valley Center Road just east of Irish Oaks. VC Road closed both directions. Use Mac Tan Rd / Vesper as detour.
A mother and her child were able to escape the vehicle avoiding the blaze.
Today at 9:34am Fire units from. Valley Center Fire, San Pasqual Fire, Rincon Fire and Cal Fire responded to a working structural Fire on Choctaw Ridge. The initial Incident Commander from Valley Center Engine 161 confirmed there were no people in the structure and began a defensive operation, protecting surrounding structures and the brush. Engines from allied agencies assisted with extinguishment and kept a venting propane tank cool preventing an explosion. No Firefighters were injured on this incident and the incident is under investigation by the Valley Center Fire Marshal, Justin Loffredo.
TRAFFIC COLLISION- Lake Wohlford Road at the east end of the lake. Roadway closed both directions until approximately 2:15pm
The vehicle went off the roadway (shown), went airborne taking out a pole and communication lines, then landing in the rocks.
The snow has finally arrived up on Palomar Mountain.

At approximately 2:20pm, smoke was seen coming from a mobile home on the 30300 block of Valley Center Road. Fire crews quickly arrived and the fire was contained to just one room.
Thanks to the multiple callers on Vesper and MacTan who called the smoke in.
