Tonight on KWPPR we will be playing 4 hours of ambient sounds recorded from esplanade. Wednesday night I walked from 4 o'clock to 2 o'clock and then to the Rat Trap on D with my live mic on as part of the ON AIR project I was working on. So I am not much for publicly airing my grievances on the Facebooks but I feel that clarification about Saguaro Man's Gathering Camp are in order. Gathering Camp is NOT replacing Center Camp at Saguaro Man. Gigi and her crew shall return next year. Before finding out Merizona was returning to the states, Gathering Camp is entirely being put together financially and with sweat equity by me and Mereizona . I have asked for no help financially or otherwise from AZ Burners for Gathering Camp. Gathering Camp is entirely our gift to our community to act as a spot that will normally have a center camp as a public space for art, performances, and workshops. I want my camp to be a living room of sorts this year for Saguaro Man.
There is a certain individual within the AZ Burning Man community that has issues with me over decisions I made regarding my involvement with The Covid Response Team in 2021. Honestly speaking I am at a lost at what exactly those issues are exactly. A complaint was written against me for abuse of power or abuse in general? I am not exactly sure to be honest as the complaint was really never presented to me until months after I stepped down from leading the Covid Response Team. Needless to say this individual seems to feel that somehow she was abused by me during her experience with the Covid Response Team and seems to be taking her grievances against me public. There has been NO ABUSE what so ever with this individual on my part. Heated disagreements for sure, but at NO time have I ever abused this individual or anyone for that matter.
Honestly I am confused by all the drama over me wanting to host my theme camp and my radio station. Merizona and I are both bending over backyards to diminish this drama that was not created on our part. In all reality all we want to do is to host an inviting public space this year to be used by our community.
We invite all to come and hang out at Gathering Camp next week and enjoy the space we have created for our community.

Community Radio Out of my Room

I like music. I like my music. I have had the pleasure of being around some very talented and wonderful musicians in my life. They inspire me. They console me when I am sad. They celebrate with me when I am happy. KWPPR is born out of the celebration of that music. So much radio today is crap. Its not MY music. Its canned and pressed and stuck on a shelf of corporate air waves for us to consume. So I decided crap on that! I will make a radio station out of my room. Even if I am the only listener to my Community Out Reach project, its good enough. I hope you want to be a part and help. I hope you listen. Most of all I hope you enjoy!
