Last week, @DamFunk brought his heavy crates and the @funkmosphere crew to LAX 🪄✨
As part of #LAXpresents, dublab curates an ongoing performance series celebrating our community, DJ roster, and LA’s diverse musical cultures.
With over 10 guest mixes for the station under his belt, we’re forever grateful to Dam-Funk for keeping the connection strong and showing love for the dublab family.
Fun fact: his iconic Funkmosphere party used to take place at The Virgil, right downstairs from our old HQ!
Back in 2001, we were honored to host the humble & legendary DJ Spinna in the studio. He dropped 1 hour and 27 minutes of soulful breaks, broken beat, and house infused tunes, all from a crate he lugged from NYC.

Behind the scenes of “Memory in Motion”: tp Dutchkiss and Colloboh experimenting with an 80-foot tape loop at dublab headquarters.
Fed by 4 microphones and processed by three separate reel to reel tape machines, the loop captures live atmospheric audio. Over time, the auditory memories of the immediate past collected on the tape degrade while new memories assemble.
This sound installation will be a part of our January 25 program with Getty Research Institute, “Memory in Motion”–an evening of experimental performance integrating audio, video, and technology with Colloboh and friends at the Getty Center’s Harold M. Williams Auditorium.
Free and all ages, RSVP by clicking here -> https://www.getty.edu/calendar/sound-experience-colloboh/

“Luminaries of Light and Space” is on view for ticketed passengers through Winter of 2024 in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. This exhibition is in memory of featured artist De Wain Valentine, Robert Irwin, and legendary fabricator and technical collaborator of many Light and Space artists, Jack Brogan.
