Last month I was very lucky to have some of my work shown at the opening of the Immersion Gallery
[ https://www.facebook.com/ImmersionGallery ] . This is what was shown!
I wasn't quite sure what to show but decided on keeping a theme so I went with "shapes". I combined the three variations I have made into a single cohesive short film. Thank you to Eddie Bridges and Christopher Nash for their help on this. Also thank you to Immersion Gallery for showing my stuff. Thank you Kevin Bate!! What an absolute honor. We ran it through a super sweet projector with a killer sound system including subwoofer. It was wild seeing and hearing it that big.
I got fancy and added end and opening credits, plus little segue scenes between the variations. Dig it!!!

Some of the voices you hear at the beginning amongst the crowd are , and my step kid Jonny. It's fun to invite friends to be a part of these things!
Additional ambient sounds from freesound.org. Thanks to bogenseeberg, dreamstobecome, racche, sandermotions and norris123.

If you're wondering, Walter is singing: "Cause any time's a fine time for makin' whoopee"
Scandalous!!!

What?!?!?!?
Super grateful to the CFF for selecting my work. I'm proud of it.

Hi everyone!
I made a title screen (I guess that's what you call it? I don't know...) to put before my animations in a festival environment. I noticed at the Nooga Underground Festival that all the other films had some form of title screen that might mention the production company (as well as the title of what I was about to watch!).
What a thought!
My stuff "just starts".
Some form of introduction makes sense.
So I made one. Super simple. Check it out!
Basically I cut the SKW logo out of cardboard. I set a small light behind the cardboard so the image would pop/illuminate through. I then changed the color of the light, snapped a picture, changed the color of the light, snapped a picture, changed the color of the light....etc.
Then ran all of it together at 12 frames per second. The result is what you see here!
Thanks for watching!!!

It's true!!!
I'm calling this one Frog Boi. 🐸
was a quicker animation. Took about 3 or 4 weeks total. Maybe not that long?
The frog is built out of armature wire, hot glue, clay, JB Weld and aluminum foil.
I was able to hook the rig directly into his back for the jumping bits.
The eyes are marbles I painted red.

The jingle is based off a song from a band I was in back in the olden days.

The sign itself is armature wire and clay I baked in the oven then painted. I hot glued a wire to the top of it so the needle nose grips could grab it and lift it. Used this for the illusion of frog boi picking it up and flipping it then dropping it.

The words on the sign come from a Mr Rogers song. I was watching a documentary on him and he started singing this lovely song he wrote. The words were "I like you as you are, exactly and precisely."
I thought it was a beautiful sentiment and that's when I got the frog idea.

Thanks so much for watching!!!

I wanted to make a behind the scenes for my last animation called エリザベス.
I started it on Feb. 2nd or 3rd and finished on Feb. 12th. It was like 10 or 11 days total from conception to final render.
The music is based off a melody I came up with for her on valentines of 2018 (I had a recording saved away). It's scored for piano, harp, violin, cello, bass, chimes, bass drum and tuned gongs.
It all started off with the idea of her name being moved around, or various things moving and coming together to form her name.
The letters are made of mini wooden sticks I bought at Michaels. Hot glued together. Painted green. They were hot glued to armature wire which was in turn hot glued to the handle of a paint brush roller. That was held in place with a magic arm/clamp. Once this was sturdy, the name was ready to animate.
The white flower was made out of construction paper and hot glued to a bolt that was ran through a nut which was glued stationary to armature wire. The rose was basically the same thing but an actual dried out rose.
The small piece sitting stationary to the right through it all was a Christmas gift from Beth. It is made from cork. It is a beautiful natural scene.
Post/rig removal took about 9-10 hours I'd guess. Approximately 160 frames with 3 separate maps being moved each frame for a total of somewhere between 500-600 moves in-app for the entire ~12 seconds.
That 12 seconds is looped over and over using different light and effects.
The animation took around 2 days. It was shot at 12 frames per second. I've included a clip of me animating a portion of it. (What you see there is a little under an hour total) Probably somewhere around 4 hours all together? It's easy to get lost in it all while animating.
The falling flower petals are a clip I snagged from Pixabay [user: Relaxing__Guru] (thank you!)
エリザベス is Japanese for Elizabeth, my partners name. It's pronounced eh-dee-zah-beh-soo
I worked super hard on this project. I hope you enjoyed it and it made you feel something. It was the first thing created in my new workshop space and I'm pretty happy about that. Thank you for reading this!!!!

Older animation I made right as the pandemic/quarantine started in late March of 2020. Was my first puppet with eyes that I could actually move (parts/eyes from the incredible ).
And yes, that’s Grima Wormtongue’s voice from LOTR 💍 👁 💍
