The Christian Wood extension situation is an interesting one. Mavs want a shorter-term deal with a team option, whereas Wood wants security and a longer-term solution.

Can’t say I blame him. He’s bounced around a lot and is 27. He wants stability and to play with a generational talent, but Dallas is reluctant to hitch its wagon at a steep cost. I get that, but I also don’t see how you could risk another Jalen Brunson situation where you lose your second-best player for nothing.

What do you think? Do the Mavs get this done, or do they miss out again on the talent right under their nose?

Last week we discussed the 1988 Dallas Mavericks squad that pushed the Magic & Kareem Lakers to seven games in the Western Conference Finals.

We liked it so much, in fact, we decided to take a look at some more “what if” Dallas squad.

This week, the 2002-2003 Western Conference Finals between the 4-seed Mavericks and top-seeded Spurs.

It’s Dirk, Nash, Finley, and Nick Van Exel vs Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Steve Kerr on this week’s Positively RELENTLESS!

Today marks five years of The Dallas Prospect, though the first YouTube video wouldn’t drop until late October.

Quite the ride so far. From recording that first video with all of the resolution of a baked potato, to interviewing a NFL Hall of Famer in Drew Pearson, to where we are now, it’s been incredible.

To everyone who has come along on the journey or even given the show a watch, thank you.

I’m proud of the growth that’s come along the way but I assure you you haven’t seen anything yet.
