This Fourth of July I’d like to share a song that I hold close to my heart.
There are six characters in this song I’d like to introduce to you, all of which are family members who are very special people in my life.
They're all here: the uncle, the aunt, the mother, the cousin, the close friend, and the brother.
I have a Fourth of July party every year at my home. One year while enjoying the festivities, I watched and listened to everyone interacting and having a good time. While watching it occurred to me that this is America’s Backyard.

The wounded war veteran who never lets anyone feel uncomfortable about his physical appearance and never allows it to stop him from doing anything in life.
He’s not handicapped at all.

The woman who married that war veteran even after his wounds altered his physical appearance for life.
She is truly a saint.

The lady with her many phobias that sometimes cripple her emotions in life. She has family, love, and prayer on her side.
Everything turned out alright.

The father whose beautiful wife was taken from him and his children at such a young age.
He raised two kids by himself and he’s proud.

The councilman, the town crier who has all the solutions to fix the system.
You’ve got the right to disagree.

The son whose parents divorced while he was becoming a young man who sought out fatherly guidance.
Sometimes life is sad.

This is all of our lives.
This is our world.
This is your family.
This is AMERICA’S BACKYARD.
