Who else is a bad advice-taker? 🤚🏼

I’ll admit it, sometimes I’m the ABSOLUTE worst 🤣

For example, some of the best advice given to me by other successful entrepreneurs is to outsource the things I do not like and am not great at.

Aka: my weaknesses

But I’ve alwayyyyyyys resisted this advice. Probably the same way you have 😉

I think one of the most powerful fundamentals that sits at the epicenter of entrepreneurship is that “I can do it myself” mentality. Because we DID do so much of it ourselves. (Insert snap and “I’m a badass” strut down the invisible catwalk) 🫰🏼💃🏼

And likewise, when it comes to the accessibility of social media — where literally ANYONE can create content and post it, from anywhere, regardless of their level of expertise, there is absolutely an “I can do this myself” mentality. Because it doesn’t require any level of expertise to hit the “share” button.

You CAN do it yourself!!

But doing so in a way that is intentional and effective for the growth and identity of your brand? Well now that not only requires expertise, but at a very base level, it requires desire.

And the truth is: most people don’t desire having to deal with social media. Forget mastering it, they simply hate the fact that they even have to deal with it AT ALL. (I can hear the collective “amen” 😂)

Which — makes it an obstacle and a weakness.

So the best advice I can give any entrepreneur who falls in that category, is to outsource that weakness! And no, that’s not code for: hire me! (I mean I wouldn’t turn you away 😂)

But rather, a nudge to consider the amount of glorious energy (and time) outsourcing this will afford you to put into the tasks you actually ENJOY!!

I never understood why Pride Month was a thing. In fact, it bothered me that everyone made such a big deal about it.

I didn’t get it.

But I do now.

I went to my first Pride event! And even though it was a lot of booths giving away sunscreen and magnets and dog toys…

It was ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL to me 💫

I picked up these buttons. I love them. The safe space one is my FAVE

Annnnd, I’ll be going to as many Pride things as I can this month. Rocking my colorful “free mom hugs” tee and alllllll the rainbowy, glittery, sparkly goodness I can 🌈✨ (and making a very 👏🏼 BIG 👏🏼 DEAL👏🏼 about it!)

After my daughter and I attended Denver Fashion Week (where we snapped these fun pics), I was so bummed not to see them in my inbox. 🥺

So naturally, I put on my overachiever hat 🎩 did a little digging. I emailed Eric — the owner of Denver’s Photo Booth.

(Tbh I wasn’t even expecting a reply, no reflection of him, just my experience as a business owner who frequently deals with other business owners 🙃🫠😂)

Much to my surprise he responded right away (sooooo many brownie points). I shared how I usually HATE the way I look in Photo Booth photos, and that my daughter and I rarely take pics that we BOTH like — buuuuut we both ADORED these. So much so that I want to print them!!

I was 99% sure he’d probably say no to my next question, but I figured why not go for the gold? 😉

I asked how much he’d charge to send me a high resolution copy.

Not only did he say — no charge necessary, but sent me them THE NEXT DAY.

Ummm WUUUUUUT?! 🤯

When I expressed my overwhelming shock and gratitude he casually replied: “No problem at all. Very grateful for kind people”

🥹🥹🥹🥹🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰

Definitely one of my favorite interactions with a complete stranger, possibly ever

Over the past few years I’ve courageously gone through a process of deconstruction

Transitioning from a place of complete certainty into a place of questions and contemplation. Uncovering and unraveling every core belief I have had — for the past 25 years

This process has rocked me. In every way. It’s been scary and painful and overwhelming

Revealing the deepest wounds and trauma and struggles I’ve had all my life — but have never really truly worked though

After manyyyyy months of researching therapists to find the right one, in January of this year I started therapy 🙏🏼

It has already been life-changing

SO hard and SOOO good
So painful and so productive
So challenging and so eye-opening
So daunting and so liberating
So overwhelming and so powerful

In a recent session, my therapist held up a list of various beliefs about ourselves and asked which one jumped out at me as something I’d like to be able to believe

As I scanned through a sea of phrases, once my eyes caught a glimpse of this one it almost knocked the wind out of me

I just knew instantly— this was THE ONE my soul craved most

So yeah. Right now I’m trying her on for size. Like playing dress-up with my mom’s high heels 👠

Seeing how it might feel to actually live in the truth that: it’s ok to be me

I could get used to this 😊

It’s time to hop on the MOST time-saving, biggest-bang-for-your-buck, MASCARA TREND everrr:

Cocktailing your mascara 🍹🥃🍸

Aka: using 2 mascaras instead of one

(Yes it really is THAT simple. But the payoff is INCREDIBLE. Read on to learn HOW. There’s actually a science to WHICH mascaras you use for this process! And fun fact: my special bonus tip is last! 🤓)

▪️HERE’S HOW : Three Simple Steps▪️

1.) For your first mascara, you’ll need to select one that will QUICKLY thicken, lengthen and condition your lashes in just ONE coat. Essentially acting as a high-powered, no-fuss primer, with color. 🙌🏼

My favorite mascara for this step is YOUTH® Lash Revitalizing and Conditioning Mascara — made by Shaklee, distributed by Pomifera — which means you can get from moi 💁🏼‍♀️ at member pricing (yayyyyeeee)

2.) For your second mascara, select one that’s the color you want (I looooove brown 🤎), that will define and separate like a CHAMP — without getting clumpy when you layer it. 👊🏼

My favorite mascara for this step is Lash Sensational Sky High Lengthening Mascara — made by — which you can get ANYWHERE, but my fave spot to get it is 🎯

3.) 🏆 My special BONUS tip 🏆
After applying your second mascara, always use a non-clamping heated lash curler to smooth, curl and give that perfect finishing touch. (It will!) Then go back and quickly touch up the ends with your second mascara. Easy peasy 🍋 squeezey

The difference that using a heated lash curler AFTER your initial application will make is INSANE. 🤯 Don’t skip it! Truuuuust me!

In my — choosing what’s actually best FOR ME era

A LOT has changed in three years. Here’s the most notable differences:

▫️2020 me
I was 20 lbs heavier, my hair was more golden-hued, shorter and perfectly styled. ☺️ I wore my makeup heavier across the board. I wore a lighter lip and didn’t overline my lips above the Cupid’s bow. I wore a fully filled-in brow and kept the finish matte.

▫️2023 me
I’ve lost 20 lbs (yay), my hair is toned with a purple mask, longer and more free flowing. I wear a much more sheer/glossy/natural makeup look across the board — trading out foundation for a bb cream and foundation mixture, matte setting spray for a superrr hydrating one, and black mascara for brown. My brows are laminated and styled with a “wet finish.” I use way less color to fill them in (showing off each individual hair 🤗). I wear a darker lip color and always over-line above my Cupid’s bow for a fuller upper lip look.

And the differences you can’t see:
The 5,982 ways my life/what I support/my beliefs/how I spend my time/who I am has CHANGED drastically between then and now. It’s pretty insane. And pretty amazing. But that’s a story for another time 🤓

While I like BOTH versions of myself, I loooove 2023 me 🤩

When you’ve just washed off allllll your pretty makeup and slathered yourself in serums and oil (which conceal NOTHING and expose everyyyyyything 🙃😬🫣) and your 16-year-old daughter’s friends (with perfect 16-year-old complexions) walk up and say:

“Your skin is soooo good”

You get a little (or a LOT) giddy inside
