Fall is here!! It’s been quite busy to say the least and we’ve been living life. I’m not that great at remembering to document adventures anymore and I rarely see Ayden these days. When we are all 4 together, I am in the moment and forget to snag photos 😩🤦🏻‍♀️

This is SEVENTEEN!!!
Happy Birthday to the one that made me a mom! The one that always puts others before himself. He’s our open-minded, levelheaded, funny, smart, responsible, still doesn’t drink soda and wants donuts instead of cake - first born. I love watching him grow into a young adult. Super proud of this kiddo. ❤️

Slowly but surely.

We removed walls, updated electrical work, widened the door frame, relocated air vents, updated to Control4, new lights, new floor, — almost new everything.

Now, I’m torn between the front door…

Replace (update) the storm door or go without?

I love the bare front door but I sure do love opening it. ☀️

Update after my year mark and a few things I have learned about property management

1) if I want the business to standout from others, then I have to offer something different (I love a good challenge)

2) no two days are EVER the same

3) communication is key (and that’s coming from an introvert)

4) rentals will always be needed (long-term and short-term)
it just depends on where someone is at during that phase of life. rentals can be used for families, singles, couples, traveling corporate jobs, college students, traveling nurses, and Airbnb

5) always being able to help others 🖤 (investors, owners, agents, tenants and vendors)

No clue where we were going and no itinerary.

A much needed, last minute - let’s just go trip. Not gonna lie, the mom guilt started to kick in but I didn’t let it. It was so nice for just me and Austin to escape kid and dog free before school starts tomorrow. We threw the essentials in and hit the road.

And, I’m just gonna throw this out there… we stopped by before heading into no service land and I had the BEST fried chicken sandwich, EVER!! Super cool place, highly recommend.

I never shared these but I photographed these several months ago. PROM. 🤘🏻

I love a good golden hour session and perfect lighting. However, this one we went after something different... a night sesh.

We started as the sun was already setting and photographed into the night using artificial light.

Bump that iso up, lower that shutter, don’t go too low in your aperture, take a deep breath and CLICK.

Don’t be afraid to play with different lighting. Change up your camera settings also to allow different looks in the same area.

Most of all… Have fun!

“Embrace your true self-“

When I started to look into options of a new career, I worries about not fitting in. I’ve never had that type of job before because I worked for myself and mostly from home or studio. I finally tossed those thoughts out the window and was like… if I’m going to do this thing… I’m showing up as me. If they don’t like me, well then… I’m not for them.

A million interviews (with the same person) and up against others (WITH PM experience) - I landed the position I applied for.

I will never forget those deep questions and even the simple ones like - “what did you do to prepare for this interview?” and I answered - uh, nothing. 🤷🏻‍♀️😆🤦🏻‍♀️

I just showed up! I showed up as me.

This page reminds me of making that decision to take a path in the direction of a new career.

Don’t be afraid to just show up. Even in your 40’s. ✌🏻

It all started in 2007. The cool thing about NOT niching down my photography craft… I have seen it all and heard it all! I have photographed so many people, families, babies, weddings, and important milestones. I’ve been in every weather and lighting condition possible. I have had the honor to photograph at amazing venues, homes and locations near and far. I’ve witnessed joy, shock, sadness, laughter, loss, new life, I’ve watched love birds turn into couples and watched so many families grow one after another.
I have soooo many take always it’s entirely possible to list what was in a 15 year photography career.
This isn’t isn’t easy and this post can get VERY long, fast.
BUT with season, it has it’s changes. I am certainly in that season of change. A season of growth.
I am officially announcing I will be stepping away from photography for a good bit. As I continue to lead a team and be trusted to run another company… I must give everything it consist of, 100%. However, without each.and.every.single.one.of.you the last 15 years, I wouldn’t be where and who I am today. Cindy will be rocking and rolling with White Rust still and who knows, you might see me next year 2nd shooting or opening up a weekend when time allows. But for now, I must be committed to this season of my life - my work and my family. 🖤✌🏻📸

I love Timehop for family memories but I love it too for reminding me what made me who I am today in my career as a person.
Everyday I get to look back on 14 years of photos from other families I’ve captured. I took away something from every single one. Each session, each experience, each season. Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart… but it certainly helped me get to where I am now in a completely different career.
In today’s Timehop… 2 totally different types of sessions. Beyond the income and them supporting me so that I could provide for my family… they both provided me with way more than they’ll ever know. Experience. 🖤🖤

I know as many hairstylists as I do re agents - and there’s a lot of agents out there… so.

It has been YEARSSSS though since I’ve had my hair colored. Since hitting 40, the gray is creeping in. So I guess I need to start paying for color. 🫣😫

Everyone thinks their hairstylist is the best…
so who’s the best around for COLOR?
You know… Hiding the grays naturally. 💇🏻‍♀️👵🏻
