A joy to create this series … True Story!

When Thomson Reuters approached us with a rough concept for the True Stories series, we were excited! The opportunity to bring an audio webcast of real user conversations to life with a unique, but on-brand twist of metaphorical, animated line art, got our creative minds going. Each, short takes the viewer on a visual journey that keeps them guessing and drives home a “True Story” message at the end. We’ve completed four videos in the series so far, and truly enjoy bringing the stories of real users to life! These TRUE STORIES showcase our artistic and animation ability, visual storytelling, and sound design skills to captivate an audience. True Story.

Join us in celebrating a very special milestone for 52 Watt Studios! In addition to this being the 23rd anniversary of Chad Gast joining our team this month, we are also officially welcoming Chad into his new role as President of 52 Watt Studios!

After 35 years of leadership, Michael Seaton is excited for the 52 Watt legacy to continue with the business transitioning to Chad. Mike will continue to be on the team and is thrilled to have Chad step into the leadership role as visionary for the company moving forward.

Chad has been an integral part of 52 Watt Studios’ success over the years and was the perfect fit for this important role. In addition to continuing with creative and project development, art direction, and high-level post-production efforts, he is honored and excited to lead the team in serving our valued clients and bring new possibilities and fresh ideas to the table.

Share the Dream was a joy to work on with HCCP. We were able to incorporate some amazing historical imagery to capture the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. We were excited to bring together teaching segments, various interviews, and historical footage all while staying in budget on time and making our clients very happy!

I was in middle school, and I played the flute in the marching band and we needed new uniforms. So they made us sell cheese and sausage.

That's right: I was small; I was introverted; I wore very thick glasses, I was on the ASD spectrum; I played the flute and now I was forced to go door-to-door and ask strangers to purchase some cheese or some sausage or perhaps both or maybe this little crock-pot of cheeses that I carried with me.

I would knock on the door, hoping no one was home. But they always were. And I would talk while looking at the ground. I would say things about cheeses and sausages and maybe this crock-pot and I know you probably don't want any but they are for new uniforms and here's a little crock-pot you can buy.

There's a word for this: Terror.

I still feel a bit of it when I'm asked to sell stuff. Today, I have a book and video series and stuff launching and this time it's not for the Assumption, Illinois marching band, it's for HarperCollins and they'd really like me to tell you it's now available today. And they're right, I should, and I am.

I do think it's a very helpful and needed book. I believe in it even more than I believe in cheeses and sausages and the little crock-pot. But it still freaks me out to promote things, which is why when I have to do videos, they seem a little like the hostage kind.

So anyway, UNOFFENDABLE is now available (just find it on Amazon or wherever) and the video series for small group discussion.

If you don't want to buy these things that's okay with me and we can totally be friends. I have contact lenses now and I'm medium-sized and I still mostly look at the ground when I talk but I'm feeling fine about myself.

I failed as a Cheese and Sausage and Crock-Pot Salesman, but we did get the uniforms and they came with Three Musketeers-style hats with plumes and I liked those so it's all good.
