Own It: The Story of Frangipani Music
The name of the publishing company known as Frangipani Music, specifically the ‘frangipani’ part of it comes from a story that is legendary, which is why we will not get into that tale just yet. Suffice to say, it is a nod to my grandmother, who was affectionately known by my closest friends as ‘Frangipani Granny,’ a nickname she herself disclaimed, I might add.
With a certain amount of foresight, I had been using this name whenever I made copies of my song lyrics so, it was a foregone conclusion when in September of 2017 I finally established Frangipani Music as a publishing business with BMI that this name was to be the one chosen.
Randy Vaughn is a principle team member of Frangipani Music, having co-written a few songs with me. Damaged Goods music is also published by Frangipani Music, starting with their double CD REVOLUTION GUN (2018). The idea was to own the publishing rights to songs that we write and to market them everywhere, everyway, everyday! Own it!
