The South Walton area has its fair share of craft beer breweries and distilleries, wine bars and beachy pubs. Enter the newest game in town, Palm Folly Hard Seltzer, a woman-owned craft brewery offering fruit-forward hard seltzers – the first of its kind in the state 💓

Everything about Palm Folly screams “modern aesthetic,” from the vibe of the taproom to the decorative pulls on the taps to the seltzer flavor artwork. Working under the motto of “Sunshine State of Mind,” the hard seltzers produced by Palm Folly are plant-based, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO, using real fruit and no chemicals or preservatives. They’re low sugar, which also makes them low-calorie, and unlike a lot of the competition, don’t taste like hairspray 🍹😂

While the incredible sunset views offered from their second-floor balcony may not have changed in the past 23 years, The Crazy Lobster only bears a passing resemblance to the restaurant that was originally launched as Poppy’s Seafood Factory in 2001. After 10 years under that name, the owners rebranded as Poppy’s Crazy Lobster, specializing in whole lobster and steamer buckets and offering a fun, family atmosphere 🦞

In addition to the uniqueness of its menu, The Crazy Lobster is the only restaurant in the The Village of Baytowne Wharf offering white tablecloth casual fine dining service, where you can have a great meal while wearing your casual beachy attire. When people come here, they enjoy the light, lively, coastal vibe they've created. They have newly renovated bars upstairs and downstairs, balcony seating upstairs where they can watch beautiful sunsets over the bay, and a friendly, smiling staff that will make their dining experience even more unforgettable.

They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and in the case of Austons on 98, it led a few Nashville-based restaurateurs to create something that reminded them of a place they’d always loved to eat whenever they came to Destin. Much like the iconic Buster’s Oyster Bar & Grill that served tourists and locals alike for 29 years before permanently closing its doors in 2016, they wanted their new restaurant to have a beachy, sports bar feel, with great oysters and a fun, welcoming atmosphere 🍻
