COROS Outrunning Accountability, One Recall at a Time
Let’s talk about next-level nonsense, brought to you by COROS.
Got a notification that my 46mm was being recalled. I've had ZERO issues with my watch and was informed that this was a "pre-emptive recall". This is not the first time I've had a COROS watch recalled. It happened in 2022 also.
After receiving the recall notification, I looked at my 46mm watch face to find out that COROS deactivated it. Yep, my perfectly functional watch is now a paperweight. Can’t use it, nor will I ever be able to use it again according to Jessie at COROS. Jessie says that I'm not eligible for a replacement because I "got a replacement in 2022".
They asked me to read their "FAQ" so I did about 15 times. When our email conversation had become very confusing, I asked Jessie, the customer service “expert”, to call me so that we could talk about this and clear up my confusion.
The reply? "At this time, I’d like to continue assisting you via email to provide the most thorough and accurate answers to your questions."
Who needs actual conversations anyway, right?
Oh, and when I called their phone support several times? No agents available followed by a voicemail black hole.
So here I am: one deactivated watch, zero solutions, and a customer support experience that was more confusing than supportive.
Thank you for nothing, COROS. Hello, Garmin.
