For the last couple of months, we've had a very special assignment: producing a film celebrating the Benedum Foundation's 80th anniversary. They asked for a piece that told the story of their origin, which meant telling the story of their founder. It's a special piece....and now we can share it with you.

Many moons ago, Gov. Gaston Caperton's administration asked us to produce a half-hour program on successful West Virginians. As we researched who to include, no name was more obvious to us than Jerry West! If you go about 19 minutes in on this documentary, you can watch his segment. I'll never forget how accommodating he was when we asked him to participate. At the time, he was GM of the Lakers -- but he had all the time in the world for this little film crew from back home.
