Thursday is Kids' Day at the Marshall County Fair. Events for the day: Iron Will Exhibit (dog sled demo) - 2-6pm, Bruce Elseth/Paul Tandberg and Friends from 3-5pm, Tim Kiviaho - Balloon Art/Face Painting from 3-5 pm, Bob & the Beachcombers from 3-5 pm. and Lena between sets all at the Vonsasek Stage.
At the Grandstand - Back Behind the Barn Boys at 6 pm following by the Oak Ridge Boys at 8pm.

Highway 220, Highway 317 close in Marshall County due to flooding

BEMIDJI, Minn. – (10:15 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have closed Highway 220 from Marshall County Road 4 to Marshall County Road 5 and Highway 317 from Highway 220 to the North Dakota border due to flooding.

Highway 220 and Highway 317 will remain closed until floodwater recedes and crews can evaluate the road for any damage.

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.

Warren Sheaf Available Online Starting October

Warren Sheaf subscribers will be able to purchase the newspaper online, beginning with the October 2 issue. The Warren Sheaf will maintain a website where the weekly newspaper can be accessed. New issues will be posted online and available each Wednesday at noon.
Check out the website at : www.warrensheaf.com to catch a glimpse of what the online version of the Sheaf will be like. It will be available to view for free through September.
The Sheaf will be available by mail (as it is now), online, or through a combination rate for both a print and online version. The online version can be purchased online by credit card through the Sheaf's PayPal account on the website.
One will be able to access the Sheaf on their computer, phone, iPad, etc., as it will be available electronically. All one needs is a device that allows Internet usage and a subscription.
On the Sheaf website, many items can be viewed and accessed, including advertisements and job postings.
Advertisers will have the option of posting their ad on the Sheaf website to give them more visibility.
Many other complimentary topics are available on the website, such as a community calendar (people can post items themselves), daily crossword puzzle, legal advertisements, the weather, world news and more.
Just as the Sheaf is a community newspaper, the website will be a community website. Check it out and share your thoughts about it with Sheaf staff members.
