My sweet rescue, Elsa, was only 4.5lbs and 5 years old when she was rescued from a puppy mill. She had been used as a breeder and left outdoors round the clock no matter the time of year in Missouri. When I got her, she'd had surgery for multiple broken ribs as the result of a dog attack. Thank goodness for the rescue, they are angels on earth. Today she is 10 years old, 6lbs, maybe a bit chubby, and well-loved. The photo below is the day I brought her home to start her new life.
