Texas Association of Original Doll Artists We are a non-profit organization promoting the Art of the Doll. TAODA Storybook Dolls have been published in "Art Doll Quarterly Magazine" and "Doll Directory".

The Texas Association of Original Doll Artists create one-of-a-kind dolls and/or costumed sculptures that are totally the original design and work of the individual artist. TAODA BEGINNINGS:
The Texas Association of Original Doll Artists (TAODA) came into being in 1999 when a group of 10 doll artists, who had met the previous year at a doll making workshop in Houston, decided to join forces. After

a few informal meetings, these founding members developed a set of bylaws and a plan for promoting the "Art of the Doll"
2001 - 2006 TAODA artists assembled a Storybook Doll Exhibit designed to tour Houston area libraries. The Storybook dolls have been displayed at the Decorative Arts Museum at Houston Baptist University, the Heritage Society Museum in Houston, the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County, the Brazosport Art League Gallery in Clute, TX and the International Figurative Art Shows in Kansas City, KS and Santa Fe, NM. TAODA provides doll making demonstrations each year at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, "Craft Community Day". TAODA promotes our members Doll Art and we include links to their art doll businesses on our page. TAODA is a non-profit organization and is NOT responsible for doll sales or artists. To qualify as an ARTIST MEMBER of TAODA, a doll maker must create (OOAK) one-of-a-kind dolls and/or costumed sculptures that are totally the original design and work of the individual artist. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS need only be interested in the doll making process. Contact us through FB Message.
