For those wondering about hours for Hoke County Convenience Sites (the "dump"), those sites follow the 2024 County Holiday Schedule and will reopen tomorrow, Friday, December 27, 2024.

Hoke County offices will be CLOSED in observance of the following holidays:

🎄Christmas - December 24, 25 and 26, 2024
New Year's Day- January 1, 2025
Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday- January 20, 2025
Good Friday- April 18, 2025
Memorial Day- May 26, 2025
Juneteenth- June 19, 2025

We will mail your Letter to Santa anytime, they just won't make it into this week's publication if they aren't in by 10pm. ❤️❤️

A few people have asked if they could send in their (3.7x2") Holiday greeting advertisement for the upcoming paper (12/24/2024 edition, available on Christmas Eve). If you missed last week's deadline, here's your second chance to get the holiday rate!

There's still time to drop off your letters to Santa! Our North Pole mailbox is on the front of our building, located at 119 W. Elwood Avenue in Raeford.
Letters to Santa will be published in next weeks newspaper.
Our paper next week will be printed one day early and will be available at our office on TUESDAY, Christmas Eve.

Kitzy Norris Bundy, 85, of Southern Pines entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 2, 2024.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Southern Pines United Methodist Church, 175 Midland Rd., Southern Pines, Friday, December 06, 2024 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends prior to the ceremony at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Southern Pines.

The News-Journal is looking pretty festive! Christmas decorating is in full swing this week in Downtown Raeford as businesses prepare for the annual storefront decorating contest, and for HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS!
Hometown Christmas is Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The News-Journal will be open for children to come in and write letters to Santa!
We can't wait to see you there!
