Unexpected health setback this week… but one positive thing happened at the doc office. For the first time since my domestic violence / sexual assault chapter, my white coat syndrome subsided and my blood pressure was normal, all because of my Emotional Support Angel Somi. I’m so thankful for her. 🥲

Thank you for a delicious dinner 😋

It was such a treat to sit at the kitchen table and enjoy tasting whatever you bring my way, especially produce from our !! The taro dessert with a sunset view was magical too. I can’t wait to go back to that hotel bar during another sunset to see the room glowing with chandeliers. 🩷🍷

Wrapping up the holiday weekend with my first meal at inside 😋

Over the past few days I…
- enjoyed our city’s fireworks up close
- celebrated our park’s new basketball court
- had a picnic while enjoying a summer concert
- discovered a pretty park in OC
- drank Oktoberfest beer at a German village
- introduced Somi to her new pool
- shopped at my local farmer’s market
- slept & woke up late without any stress

It’s been a while since I enjoyed so many activities back to back. Now I’m tired but happy as I get ready for a new work week. 🙂

Hi there, it’s been a while. Life has brought on some unexpected surprises over the past year or so… which has taught me to let go, re-evaluate and try to rediscover my purpose.

I’ve also been throwing myself into work as an escape mechanism and am so proud of myself and my team for building our social media presence. The price I paid is walking away from my own platforms because I’m so tired at the end of the day.

Overall, I’m ok on many days but not every day, and I’m still working on that. I’m building new support groups, being more intentional with family and friends who want to spend quality time together and enjoying as much time as I can at the happiest place on earth with my Inspire key.

Learning to fully appreciate what I have ❤️‍🩹

Somi had a health scare recently, and it reminded me of how quickly situations could change. She’s been my emotional support animal, my best friend and my reason for getting up every morning, especially during difficult days.

Somi has been my rock ever since she joined our family 2.5 years ago, and this week I got to be hers. It was heartbreaking to see her distraught face as she came out of anesthesia and heal from losing 13 more teeth. It was painful to stay up all night while she coughed and soiled her pads with blood. But knowing that it comforted her to be held by me during her difficult times was so gratifying. Seeing her spirit bounce back little by little has been inspiring. And learning that her biopsy is not as bad as we feared gave us huge relief.

I joke all the time with my hubby that I never wanted a dog aka a guaranteed heartbreak. But my sweet Somi has changed my life for the better, and she’s teaching me how to become a more caring and compassionate human. 👧🏻❤️‍🩹🐶

Thank you for rescuing her and for helping her to get healthier.

A flickering light in the midst of darkness 😌

It’s been a frustrating road for me since Covid. I’ve temporarily given up my personal storytelling dreams to invest in my home city’s TV station… and to give myself some sense of normalcy.

I grasped onto something safe and secure during a time when life felt too tumultuous. This TV studio became my safe space, my home away from home, and most recently I started realizing… my personal prison.

By sacrificing my individual storytelling journey, I also lost my social media algorithm as I posted less and less. Now it’s becoming harder for people to see my posts and updates on their feeds.. and I’ve lost motivation to share on most days.

I also lost my creative desire because I’m drained by the time I get home from work. This has led me to wonder if I have anything worthwhile left to contribute to the world.

And I lost my ability to care. People have betrayed me, hurt me, left me, or ignored me to the point that I began building walls back up, choosing to keep myself safer in isolation.

But I started wondering, what’s the path going forward? How is this sustainable to my long-term fulfillment, happiness and striving towards my purpose?

It’s moments like this, when I’m feeling down and totally defeated, that I see small acts of kindness that truly uplift my spirits.

A little neighbor girl invites me to see Bluey and Bingo in Hollywood (Bluey is currently my favorite TV show). Friends from Florida spend the holidays with me. A friend from Arizona invites me to a media party in L.A. A friend from Texas says she’s coming to visit me soon. My hubby takes me on a healing road trip through Carmel. And my mom calls just to say hi.

Work has been a big stressor for me these days, weeks, months, years. Too many things going on I’d rather not discuss in detail… let’s just say I’m in the process of re-evaluating my priorities. But in the midst of chaos, the folks in this picture stepped up last night and worked until nearly midnight so we can deliver live news for 3 hours.

I appreciate all of those who have lended me a hand or have given me a genuine smile during this time.
