I have some exciting news to share!!

I am humbled and honored to share that I was voted in today as a board member with the Detroit Federation of Musicians AFM Local 5 as the Secretary of the Musicians Fund, working with Chairman Ralphe Armstrong. In this position, I will be responsible for organizing the DFM Annual Meeting, sending thank you letter to donors, processing requests for the Nelson Grant, Covid-19 Relief/Dues Relief Grant, Detroit Musicians Fund Scholarship, and the management of the DFM page.

To say I am truly excited to work with the DFM members is an understatement. My uncle, drummer Robert Smith was a member of the union for many, many years prior to his passing. Detroit Federation of Musicians AFM Local 5 is a part of the AFM (American Federation of Musicians) that has been around since 1881, representing nearly 100,000 professional musicians across the United States and Canada.
