Our story

The Pitt News has been the University of Pittsburgh’s award-winning daily student newspaper since 1910. The newspaper publishes daily during the fall and spring semesters, with 10,000 copies distributed to newsstands across campus. The newspaper publishes weekly in the summer, with breaking news published online throughout the week.

Our staff has gone on to work at the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Daily News, South China Morning Post, CNN, Vanity Fair, CNBC, CBS Sports, Time Magazine, National Geographic, Bloomberg News, Hearst Magazines, Men’s Health, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Business-Times, Tribune-Review, PublicSource and numerous other outlets.
