As with most of my woodturning projects, the final version of this epoxy resin vase isn't exactly what I pictured. I had planned to make more of a UFO flying saucer type shape, but the burl wood had so much cool character that I felt guilty trimming too much away, so this is the shape I ended up with...

In this wood turning video, I cast a driftwood log in epoxy resin and turn it into a cool vase.

This piece of driftwood was a bit of a challenge to woodturn into a vase. Even after I cast it in resin, it had lots of holes and gaps so I had to add some 4 minute epoxy to fill them in. In the end I think it was a happy mistake, as I really like the way the gold contrasts with the silver resin.
