For the new babes who love the developing drama but don’t know the backstory!! Swipe through 👉🏻

1. I do lots of stand alone skits with characters and scenarios we never see again. The babydoll is in a lot of those. Not a real baby (!!) but representative of all the babies who have ever been. These skits usually highlight the oft-overlooked absurdity in the transformation from regular person to mom 💗
2. This is Shawna. She’s not me, she just has my name. Slightly neurotic, sometimes awkward, very sincere and means well. She’s sort of the “everymom”
3. Shawna is married to John, a lovable horndog & all around good guy. Coincidentally my real life husband is also named John. Skit John is not real John despite the obvious similarities.
4. Skit John has a mom named Barb. She’s Shawna’s MIL. Barb is pretty toxic, an emotionally immature gaslighter & guilt-tripper😵‍💫 John’s little sister is Jen, she used to be toxic but is learning a better way since getting knocked up.
5. Jen’s baby daddy is Greg, he is the greenest green flag and makes us all swoon.
6. Shawna’s mom is Delores aka DeeDee aka Mama D, a loving, supportive, no-nonsense matriarch.
7. Barb is married to Frank, John and Jen’s dad. He’s new to skits because he’s usually disassociating in the den.
8. Shawna is bffs with Laura, who just had a baby. Laura is married to Luke who does the bare minimum while invalidating Laura’s feelings. Boo Luke.
9. Shawna met a dad at the park named Ty. Unforch, Ty is married to Julie and for some reason Julie seems displeased with Shawna. Time will tell wtf is happening here…
10. And there are ore characters to come!!

Babes meet my sisters! None of my characters are based on them in any way 😁

But maybe I should do a skit about three sisters who meet up in Austin to celebrate the middle one’s birthday! There would be a battle with drunk cockroaches on a rooftop bar and lots of talk about astrology and the state of the world in equal measure. Our heroines would wear matching jammies, eat a hand-sized cinnamon roll, go to Mariah Carey’s Christmas concert, and offer to airdrop a tit pic to strangers. Then the middle one would suffer a mysterious amount of swelling after a late night shawarma. There would be a lot of laughing, nudity, and hugs. The sister would all agree that they need to do this way more often. It would be the best skit I ever made.

Thanks for the weekend seeeeeeeesters, I love you so much🥹 And as always, Austin you have a huge piece of my heart.

Oh Barb… what’s she up to now…

Babes the devastation that our western North Carolina neighbors are facing is unimaginable. Hurricane Helene caused terrifying flash flooding. Entire towns were completely washed away. People have been without food and water and power for days. Moms can’t get formula for their babies. People can’t get cell service to contact their loved ones. At this time a reported 130 people have died. Roads are closed so folks are stranded and the mountains are only accessible by air.

Whenever I feel helpless I find one small thing to do. Today that’s donating to disaster relief

I always get comments asking if real John is actually like skit John. The answer is not exactly. See, none of my characters are real people from my life and rarely are my skits the exact situations I’ve been in - that would be really uncool of me! If I pulled from real life then no one would hang out with me for fear they’d end up in a skit 😂 THAT SAID, skit John def has the vibe and humor of real John, as evidence by these text messages.

I've just reached 300K followers! This is so, so cool!!! I love acting and I love being a mom so sharing these skits marries two of my favorite things in the world and I just — GAH!! I am so grateful. I live for telling these stories and I’m so happy they resonate with so many. Thank you soooooo much for being here ILY🥹💗💗💗

Sometimes you’re just going through the motions bc what else can you do and other times you feel like damn I am nailing this life thing even if it’s not perfect, and it’s almost like that’s the whole point.
1. I got dressed (ignore the mess)
2. I did not train enough for this AT ALL IN ANY WAY but I finished and I smiled & laughed a lot thanks to her.
3. Diet Coke while a gorgeous lady works her magic? Big yes.
4. Happy birthday Phil! (Not pictured: Phil)

6. Family day date (kids couldn’t care less)
7. She likes to feel included (family game night slash hair salon)
8. Obsessed. More immediately. Please please. The waiting is agony. Wait a minute this is probably how the characters feel. Ok genius.

Merry Christmas!!! I hope you were shocked and delighted today, I hope your stocking was as full as your heart, I hope you played and laughed and relaxed and enjoyed - but most of all I hope you felt every bit of the love that you so effortlessly pour into your family everyday, aimed right back at you today. You deserve it.
