Great Great day on the water yesterday. Winds 10-16 knots from the Northeast...just a perfect sail over to downtown waterfront, with great new friends onboard. Stopped in Manchester, on Tom and Dana's mooring ball, for lunch. Then crossed the shipping lanes into downtown Seattle. Marty did a great job at the helm all day.

Part Two: I had planned to be on the hard for 3 days, so back in the water on monday, Be I became We, as my brother was in town and helped me "get'r done" so the new plan was prep bottom, then David paint as I worked on replacing dripless system and change transducer. With the whole spin around thing we were on putting on the first coats of paint until 5pm. Paint needs 3 hours in between coats, and to set overnight before going back in the water. So we thought we could still get it done and be back in the water with the last lift of the day. Then things went the way of boat work. The old dripless system was really stuck in place. It took me over 3 hours and a half can of PB blaster to get the old system removed. Then for a break we looked at the new speed in water/depth transducer and saw that it was 1/2 bigger than the old speed only transducer so it was not going to be a plug and play. So its now 8pm and David is putting on second complete coat. At least that was going well. We called it a night and hide from the security guard and spent the night on the hard. Next morning we verified we could go back in at 3pm. I went back to the cramped engine room and Dave started looking at transducer as he waited for marina workers to come move the stands so he could paint the spot they were. The new dripless went in easier, but we had a hard time getting the 3/4" preload on the bellows. Dave came and took a look and was able to pry it back with a 2x4. So I finished up the install. Dave finished the painting and went to "work" on the thru hull. He ended up breaking the old one out and installing the new one. We persuaded the new transducer into place, tight fit. And to our surprise we were ready to go back in the water ! we even had time for a sit down lunch. With no leaks on the dripless and thru hull off we went. We motor for 1 hour to break in the dripless system. Then stopped the motor and raised the sails at it was blowing a very nice 12-15 knts from the stern. We hit the dock about 7pm, exhausted, but very satisfied with the hard quick work.

ClearWater haul out for Summer Cruise Prep for Desolation Sound. Part one.

With scheduled haul out at Edmonds marina for 2:30 friday we departed Port Orchard at 8am to catch the outgoing tide under Agate bridge. We arrived into marina with no issues about two hours early. Got all checked in and paid up and just waited for our scheduled lift time. First try in the lift was in forward but with the bow sprit the head sail was too close to lifts front support. So I thought we would be a no go, but the operator said we will just turn you around. HUGE shout out to the Edmonds marina workers they were all great! So up we went in backwards and over to the yard to go on the hard. The rest of the story.......in part two
