Today, December 3, is the feast day of St. Francis Xavier. While attending the University of Paris, he became friends with St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Peter Faber and experienced a deeper conversion to the faith. The three were founding members of the Jesuits. St. Francis Xavier's priestly and missionary efforts took him to many countries including Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and the East Indies where he served, baptized and evangelized thousands.
