On the feast of Corpus Christi, June 22, more than a dozen parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville honored the Blessed Sacrament with eucharistic processions.

For one parish — Holy Spirit Church — it was the first.

The feast of Corpus Christi also marked the formal end to the U.S. bishops’ three-year initiative on the Eucharist — the National Eucharistic Revival.

In the midst of what felt like death and destruction in fire-ravaged Altadena, a spiritual sign of life appeared the evening of Friday, June 20: a monstrance containing the Eucharist carried through the streets in one of the final Eucharistic processions of the 2025 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage.

An event marking the 10th anniversary of the late Pope Francis’ encyclical on creation asked participants to make positive changes by thinking of themselves as a part of the environment.

The event celebrating “Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home” drew about 140 people to The Olmsted in St. Matthews.

Close to 70 refugee children and youth, who were recently resettled with their families by Catholic Charities of Louisville, are taking part in “Six Weeks of Summer in America,” a summer learning program.

Kait Evans, youth program manager for Catholic Charities, said the summer program is set to run through July 18.
