Think social media began with MySpace? 🤔 Nope! It began in the mid-1990s with sites like Classmates, GeoCities, and Six Degrees. Created during the age of anonymous chat rooms, Six Degrees was unique in that you used your real name and could connect to others with similar interests. Sound familiar?

Ahead of its time, it shut down in 2001. But it definitely helped pave the way for the multiple social media platforms we love ( or hate to love) today.
