Instagram Testing 'Unskippable' Ads! Instagram has confirmed it is trialing unskippable ads. These ads will feature a countdown timer, preventing users from continuing to browse content until the ad finishes. This shift makes Instagram more similar to YouTube's free version, where ads play before and during videos. Given Instagram's evolution into a video-centric platform with features like Stories and Reels, this change appears to be a strategic move in line with its current direction.

📈 TikTok Just Got Analytical 📈
TikTok recently introduced TikTok Studio, a comprehensive platform designed to help creators analyze their accounts and content performance. Accessible via desktop web browser, TikTok Studio is also available as a standalone mobile app on the Google Play Store, with an Apple App Store version expected soon.
The initial release of TikTok Studio bears a resemblance to YouTube's Studio platform. The main dashboard provides key metrics such as video views, likes, and shares. The "Monetization" tab details earnings from various revenue streams like Live Gifting and Series. Additionally, creators can schedule uploads, manage, and report comments directly from the platform.
⏱️ Upload 1-Hour Videos To TikTok! ⏱️
TikTok is testing the ability for users to upload 60-minute videos. This feature is currently available to a limited group of users in select markets, with no immediate plans for a wider rollout.
This new capability represents a shift from TikTok’s original format, which initially allowed only 15-second videos. Over the past few years, TikTok has gradually increased this limit. While the platform gained popularity with short-form videos, it is now embracing long-form content to compete with major players like YouTube.
This development could be particularly useful for podcasters and creators who produce longform content. We’re excited to see this feature roll out to more creators in the future.
🏆 YouTuber Creators May Be Getting Emmys?🏆
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, in an open letter on Monday, called on the Television Academy to extend the Primetime Emmy Awards to acknowledge the contributions of YouTube creators.
Mohan pointed out that programs native to YouTube, such as Michelle Khare’s Challenge Accepted and Rhett and Link’s Good Mythical Morning, have production teams that rival those of traditional studios. Additionally, more viewers are now watching YouTube on their TVs.
💵 YouTube's New Affiliates Hub Boosts Creator Earnings 💵
YouTube is enhancing its e-commerce initiatives with the rollout of the "Affiliates Hub," a dedicated section within the YouTube Studio app. This new feature is designed to support creators' affiliate marketing efforts, providing them with access to commission rates and promotional codes from various brands. To take advantage of this hub, creators need to be part of the YouTube Partner Program and be based in the U.S.
Affiliate marketing is becoming an increasingly vital revenue stream for content creators. By introducing the Affiliates Hub, YouTube is positioning itself as a formidable contender in the competitive affiliate marketing arena. Their competitors like LTK generated a whopping $4.1 billion in creator sales last year.
