The Rhythms of Comedy
#techniquestuesday
Taking about the rhythms of comedy in the vid below, just a quick snippet on the rule of threes, patterns, and what I call an “escalation and drop.” (Some people call it a stairstep. Potato, potahto. 🥔🥔🥔)
I have a sitcom class (FOR ADULTS!!!) starting this Sunday and I have a few more spaces. But I figured the kiddos/parents in the group could benefit from the info.
I teach one on one classes and coach for auditions regularly.
I break comedy down simply enough for kiddos to understand (and book/test at network!), but I’ve taught it at the SAG Aftra Conservatory for three years to adults.
I know I look fairly young and I’m a goofball by nature… which is why I mainly teach kids, but seriously… when one of my adult students at the conservatory realized that I was the teacher — they said “I drove an hour and an half for this?!?”… but by the end of class he told the union that it was one of the best conservatory classes he had ever taken. 😄)
Anyhoo, if you’d like to join in the kookiness, you can save your spot or book one on ones at:

The Four Cs of Comedy
My students have been kicking booty in their 3 camera and sitcom comedy auditions. I try to make the concepts simple enough to teach kiddos and have taught this for adults at the SAG Conservatory for three years.
Here’s a quick 1 min actor tip on the Four C’s of Comedy that I teach my kiddos.
Clean, committed, conversional & connected.

Reminder to Parents during Pilot Season
I have a group online class beginning this week! I had to push the start date since I booked a feature film and was working the last two weeks.
It’s $195 for 4 weeks plus one more bonus week (a gift since I had to postpone class) and a bonus class with an industry guest.
I only have six students in each group class. But this 25% CYBER Monday code works site wide!!!
