We wanted this ad to feel real, raw and naturally lit. Although we had a suction mount rig on the car to light the interior we tried to keep most outside shots minimal using primary a 6x6 and a floppy for extra bounce.

You never know what "getting the shot" might require... zip-lining with a 35lbs camera rig, being strapped to the outside of a vehicle barreling down a dirt road, or bobbing around in a canoe on Lake Tyler.

In 2023, we collaborated with Kaishan USA on an extensive 25-video campaign that took us across the country. While some locations had larger teams, our Perry, Iowa crew was a compact group of three, tailored to fit the specific needs of our client and partners. Despite the challenges, and compact crew the end product delivered impressive results.

What a fun time shooting this and many other projects for we ended up being so blessed with the kindness from this organization. The cinematic challenges were big for some of these seemingly “simple shots” like building a rig over a pool to attach a camera to a trapeze bar that was set out 5 feet from the subjects face. Or positioning a crane with a Tesla to get a better shot of kids climbing. Fighting moisture issues at 5 AM on a lake etc etc. All in all, it was great. We love it and them.
