The incredible story of a World War II Japanese Imperial soldier found alive 60 years later in Ukraine. He was captured by the Soviets during World War II and was allowed to move to Ukraine as a Soviet citizen in 1965. He married a Ukrainian woman and had two sons and a daughter. He later died in Ukraine in 2013, but as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, two of his grandchildren had to be evacuated from Zhytomyr west of Kyiv in the spring of 2022, as Russian forces advanced on the capital.
