If approved, Sanchez will be served with the recall notice before organizers begin collecting 897 additional signatures to qualify for a special election. Residents and business owners cite his failure to address key issues like vandalism, along with a pattern of unresponsiveness and political obstruction.

Riverside Police arrested 19-year-old Isaac BlackhorseGarcia after he allegedly struck and killed a pregnant woman with his car while fleeing from her family late Sunday night. The victim was transported to a hospital, where she died, but doctors were able to deliver her baby, who remains in critical condition.

Investigators determined that the suspect had been in a s*xual relationship with the victim’s teenage sister. When he dropped the sister off at home, family members approached his vehicle. BlackhorseGarcia then sped away, striking the victim with his car.

The suspect was later found in Moreno Valley and booked on charges of murder, hit-and-run resulting in death, and unlawful s*x with a minor. Full story at IECN.com.

🚨🚔 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐭: 𝟏𝟏 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝, $𝟕,𝟔𝟎𝟎 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - Redlands Police arrested 11 suspects in a retail theft sting on Jan. 30th at Mountain Grove and Citrus Plaza, recovering $7,600 in stolen merchandise from Target, Ross, Victoria’s Secret, World Market, and BevMo.

Two suspects from Los Angeles used Bluetooth devices to coordinate a theft at Ross, where officers found a suitcase filled with $3,400 in stolen goods, plus another $2,600 from Nordstrom Rack in Riverside. One suspect, Maria Isabel Torres, 28, has pending theft cases in San Diego, Riverside, and Los Angeles.

Twelve-year-old Ymiliano Hernandez is making history as the first pediatric patient in Southern California to undergo a revolutionary partial heart transplant at Loma Linda University Children's Health.

Born with a rare congenital heart defect, he faced multiple surgeries until cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Anees Razzouk led a 15-hour procedure to replace his failing valves with living donor tissue. Unlike traditional heart valve replacements, this approach allows the new valves to grow with him, reducing the need for repeat surgeries and lifelong blood thinners.

For the past three weeks, staff members from the SB Animal Services Department have been assisting their counterparts in Los Angeles. The officers would start the day with a list of addresses and pet owners hoping to either find or receive an update on pets they had to leave behind.

In one case, the San Bernardino team was able to let a relieved homeowner know that the 28 fish in one of her koi ponds had survived the fire. Although her house was destroyed, staff were able to locate and evacuate the fish from the disaster area, and they are now recovering in a pond at DreamWorks Studios.

At a town hall meeting on Jan. 30, Reche Canyon residents voiced frustration over rising crime, reckless driving, and emergency evacuation concerns. Mayor Pro Tem John Echevarria addressed calls for more police patrols and vowed to push for additional officers during budget talks in March.

Traffic congestion at Prado Lane and Reche Canyon was another major concern, with residents suggesting a roundabout or a joint advisory council to improve safety across the canyon’s six overlapping jurisdictions.

Hosted by City of San Bernardino Parks, the event featured traditional performances, food vendors, craft markets, and staged photo areas. Mayor Helen Tran, wearing a traditional ao dai, spoke on the importance of embracing the city’s diversity, calling the event a reflection of the community’s unity and hinting at a possible move to the larger Carousel Mall lot next year.

Colton police have arrested a 34-year-old man accused of opening fire on a group of patrons outside a restaurant in the 800 block of E. Valley Boulevard. The incident occcured just after midnight on Jan. 25 after a heated dispute turned violent.

Police say Roberto GarciaVieyra fled the scene after the shooting but was later identified through an investigation and arrested without incident on Jan. 30. A firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered, and GarciaVieyra was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on attempted homicide charges.

Rep Aguilar - Meals on Wheels

🚨🍽️ Thousands of Inland Empire seniors could lose access to vital meal services as the President’s funding freeze puts programs like Meals on Wheels in jeopardy. On Jan. 31, Rep. Pete Aguilar met with Family Service Association’s Senior Nutrition Administrator to discuss the urgent need for federal support as nearly 2,500 San Bernardino County seniors (living on a fixed income) rely on these programs. Potential cuts could mean stopped deliveries, skyrocketing waitlists, and empty pantries for the most vulnerable. ☔️ It’s POURING in Redlands. The National Weather Service says the IE is likely to receive 1/2 an inch to an inch of rain between Sat. Evening, Jan. 25th and Monday afternoon, Jan. 27th. Tomorrow, Jan. 26th, has a 90% chance of rain with the heaviest rainfall set to occur in the early evening. Debris flow from wildfire burn scars is a possibility in areas affected by the Bridge, Line, and Airport Fires last September. Stay vigilant. 🚨𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫-𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐝 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - On Jan. 12, Upland Police responded to a 911 call from Steven Espinoza’s sister, who reported he was under the influence of fentanyl, armed with a knife, experiencing a psychosis episode, and had threatened to hold her and himself hostage. During the call, she stated, “This is an ongoing thing, and I’ve had enough. He pulled a knife on me already.” Espinoza led officers on a pursuit that ended with a rollover crash before fleeing on foot in a residential area with two knives. Many online claimed Espinoza was tased, preventing him from complying with commands; however, Upland PD says he was never tased. Police stated that the sound believed to be a taser was from Espinoza’s overturned vehicle. Less-lethal measures were used but proved ineffective. Investigations are ongoing. 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐑-𝟏𝟓 𝐑𝐢𝐟𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐃 🚔🚨 On Thurs., Jan. 16, at 2:22 a.m., a 23-year-old Fontana man was arrested after firing an AR-15 style rifle outside the Uptown Downtown Bar in Rialto, literally two blocks from the police station. Officers arrested Sebastian Munoz, recovering three firearms and finding two additional rifles, ammunition, and two ounces of cocaine in his vehicle. Investigators believe Munoz was hallucinating under the influence of alcohol and drugs. As of Jan. 17, Munoz remains in custody, and his previous $250,000 bail is now ineligible.
