Spartan Wheelchairs are for the disabled person built by a disabled person.

New Video Project:

TKP has continued to find stories and found one over the holidays! We came across Ben Huntzinger and his story of how he was in a car crash and it resulted in him having a spinal cord injury.

Ben makes custom wheelchairs for those that lead an active life. Not all wheelchairs can accommodate those who like to still go to the beach, hunting, or other types of outdoor activities. So Ben created a company, has his own workshop and makes these chairs at little cost.

On behalf of Triple Knot Productions, and the Dery Family, I am saddened to report the death of a great
man. Charlie Ekizian, passed away on Thanksgiving Day. I met Charlie and his wife Angell Ekizian back in 2008 and I produced the film, Going The Distance: Charlie's Story of Endurance.

Charlie, I am blessed for having God put you in my life. Thank you for being a friend, a father figure at times. You will be missed.

Friends, there comes a time where we have to make a decision to let a new generation take the reins and make dreams and visions grow bigger.

I founded TKP in 2005 and during that time I met many different human beings that have touched the lives of many as well as mine. Effective immediately I will step down as President of TKP and will be handing it over to my son, Jacob Rush.

I will remain on the Board and will help Jacob with the transition as well as take up the role of Creative Director.

Stay tuned as we will continue to create films that motivate and inspire.

** NEW YEAR UPDATE **

Dear Followers:

At Triple Knot Productions, we are excited at the great opportunities that will be coming to us this year in 2020. As we enter into a new year, a new decade, we will work very hard to bring great stories to you of how individuals overcome physical challenges. Our stories have always inspired others to let the human spirit continue within them as they face their daily hurdles.

When I was paralyzed I was told I would never walk again. I never gave up and never gave in to temptation to quit. I was strong, my mind, then my body prevailed. Today as I work hard I want to fight for those who don’t have a voice. For those who think there is no hope, where there actually is.

Our plans for this year and the coming years are to continue bringing true stories of triumph, courage, strength and fortitude to the front. We are going back to the basics of storytelling of films that motivate and inspire. For this year, two projects are being planned. First, we want to bring to the limelight the forgotten female heroes who serve in our Armed Forces. Female Veterans are so heavily overlooked and forgotten. They too have made many sacrifices while serving overseas and at home. Our second project we are looking to raise funds to develop a pilot for a show that involves traveling in Florida and discovering historical sites giving the viewers of the history. We are very excited at our plans that have been laid out and hope you are too.

So how can we do it? I am calling on you all for help. We need it. Triple Knot Productions is a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit organization. We have very limited, to non-existent funds. You tax-deductible donation will go to help continue to make TKP a success. For each person who donates, you will receive a letter stating your donation for tax purposes. Donations collected will be spent for research & development as well as operating costs. Friends, we need to raise $4,000. You say that doesn’t sound like a lot of money for two film projects and operating costs. I can assure you, we have cut back drastically on expenses, other projects, and to date, as Founder of TKP, I still take no salary. I promise you that I still do all these projects out of the “labor of love.”

A couple weeks ago the wind was knocked out of me when I heard of the passing of Ben Carpenter. In 2008, I was invited into the lives and hearts of the Carpenter family as I produced a film on the life of this amazing young man who had accomplished so much by the age of 14.

Yesterday I had the honor to attend the Celebration of Life for Ben. He touched so many lives during his time here. He will continue to do so for many more years to come.

Jim and Tari, you did an amazing job with Ben. You showed and given so much love not only to him, but to many other friends, family, and strangers.

Ben, thank you for being a bright light not only in my life but many others. May your spirit live forever in our minds, bodies and souls.
