Hard to believe this was 7 months ago in 2024! This incredible video submitted to us by Jess Yvette last year shows the Big Sioux River at a record shattering 44.98' at North Sioux City, SD. The previous record was 37.7'. 😮

It's windy out there! How windy? Check out these runaway trash bins in South Sioux City, NE making a break for it today! As you can see, one may have been sent to trash bin Heaven! 😲Video from Scott Sellman!

Freezing drizzle has been moving across the HWY 20 corridor this morning. Black ice is being reported along with accidents in numerous locations.

⚠️A wintry mix is still taking place east of I-29 in Iowa as of 5:40am. Any untreated surface could be very slick this morning.

Mixed precipitation is headed north as expected this afternoon! If you have travel plans this evening, you'll want to allow extra travel time. Slick surfaces are expected.

Here's what one weather model thinks could occur from Friday 5pm through Saturday at Noon. Freezing rain/sleet is likely across much of the region. This will create slick conditions especially on untreated surfaces.

Jason Thomas Dahl witnessed a spooky sight to start off Halloween morning! Snow! This was taken in Cleghorn, IA around 6am. 😱

It's been over a month since we've seen measureable rainfall. Radar this morning shows rain and even thunderstorms moving in! 💦

Here's a look across Siouxland this afternoon. Some hot spots (black dots) have been seen across the area likely representing fires. Numerous fires have been reported by local fire departments today. Be safe, be smart!
