We are proud to feature Maaz Memon in the Spring 2025 issue of the STEM Crew Magazine as Maaz is making significant strides in the field of oral health as a dedicated dental academic and researcher. With a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Master’s degree in Oral Pathology, he is currently pursuing his PhD, focusing on advancing the understanding and management of oral diseases—particularly oral cancer, which remains a major health concern in his country.
Driven by firsthand experience of the limitations in early detection and treatment of oral cancer, Maaz explores the role of extracellular vesicles, especially exosomes, and microRNAs (miRNAs) in cancer biology. His goal is to identify reliable, non-invasive biomarkers and develop targeted therapeutic strategies that can be applied in clinical practice.
Maaz expresses his gratitude for being featured in the Spring 2025 issue of STEM Crew Magazine:
“Truly honoured to be featured in the Spring 2025 issue of STEM Crew Magazine. Grateful for this recognition. A heartfelt thank you to the STEM Crew team for not only spotlighting my work, but for their incredible contribution to the STEM community. Their platform continues to inspire, empower, and elevate voices making a difference in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Let’s continue building a future shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and purpose.”
Beyond his research, Maaz is deeply committed to education and mentorship, believing that guiding and inspiring young professionals is essential for the growth of science and healthcare.
