In addition to providing at-home care services and conducting other patient assistance programs, United HomeCare® has been expanding its participation in the annual Florida Council on Aging - Florida Power and Light Hurricane Meal Kits Initiative. We are proud to share that this spring and summer Team UHC coordinated strategic distribution sessions throughout Miami-Dade neighborhoods, supplying thousands of South Florida seniors and disabled adults with three days’ worth of shelf-stable meals, water and snacks they can rely on in case of extended power outages during hurricane season.

Throughout 2024 United HomeCare® has been providing additional support to older members of our community, many of whom struggle to care for themselves, who have courageously taken on the challenge of raising their grandchildren. As the attached article explains, with these cases steadily increasing, Team UHC formally created the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Initiative to help ensure a positive outcome in the lives of these older adults and their charges.
