We build a personal relationship with every client, learn your brand, and connect you to audiences through innovative visual media. I am a born and raised Washingtonian who as a child was fascinated with the wonders of nature and loved to explore. When a historic farm, the last remaining in the area, was put up for sale, I—as an elementary school child—dreamed of raising money to save the property
from development and starting a nature center. Though those childhood ambitions faded, I grew a love for photography which was enhanced by my appreciation of the natural world. Since 2005, I have worked as a professional photographer specializing in portrait and event photography, working as a freelancer and alongside many prominent D.C. I also managed the retouching and design department at post-production company, Pilot Imaging, for seven years, polishing my skills as a digital artist. On a 2009 cross-country trip, I discovered the amazement of our National Parks and public lands and haven't stopped traveling, exploring, and photographing since. In 2016, I made the decision to refocus my career on environmental and science communication and meld my expertise with my passion, working to make a difference in our world. I returned to school at the University of Maryland to pursue a degree in communication with a focus in digital and visual media. I enrolled in numerous science and environmental courses and completed a minor in sustainability in order to prepare myself for a career in science communication. Since pursuing a career as a conservation photographer, I have photographed and produced visual communications for both local non-profits and national NGOs. I have pursued projects focused on sustainability, food security, environmental justice, public land conservation, and scientific research. I enthusiastically embrace and enjoy every opportunity to both expand my own knowledge and understanding of conservation topics and to produce communication products to help educate and ignite others. Today, I serve on the board of North American Nature Photography association, lead a visual communication team at the National Science Foundation, and focus my client work on environmental portraiture and science communication.
