The one where a social media manager loses her creativity..
Yes, it happens.
The best part of my job is that it has never felt like work because I freakin' love what I do. I am obsessed and can't turn it off most days.
Buuuut balancing momlife, work and the ever lasting Pan D, I crashed and burned hard several months ago.
This isn't just about posting on Instagram, I've had to have some serious come to jesus talks with myself about how I want to run my business. Not knowing the direction my business was going, created a creative block.
Here's how I got back into a creative mindset:
1. Getting over the fear of just being myself. Being a mom and owning a business isn't a lavish lifestyle. I am not sitting at a desk sipping champagne (ok, maybe after their asleep😉). It's a back and forth of prioritzing work and my children. It's chaotic and not pretty most days.
2. I'm getting a brand refresh. Wow, who would have thought this would create a spark. Your brand is a priority and should also make you feel excited or else what's the point?
3. Changing my environment. I spend most days working in the same spot and it was starting to wear on me. Working in a coffee shop helps me focus and not get tied down by all the things I could be doing at my house.
4. Listening to music or a podcast Music keeps me in a positive mood and it creates a vibe around the content that I'm working on. I'm also a big fan of audiobooks & podcasts with topics on my industry. I don't have time to read so I listen to them when working or cooking and they always make me feel inspired.
5. Taking a break. Yep, this is a hard one for me too! When I work on content for far too long, I start to hate it. Sometimes coming back to it the next day with a fresh perspective allows me to see something I didn't see before and I'll finish it up in two seconds.
