// Tired of yelling? 5 R's of Positive Parenting
Tired of yelling? When you try to do all the things and wear all the hats we can see “Medusa Mama” surface. Who is Medusa Mama? It’s when you ask something of your kids, or anyone really, and then after not feeling heard she yells. Yes picture snakes from the head and maybe even your head spins, eyes turn into lasers and all the things. Ha! Ok.. maybe it’s mostly the yelling and then you feel bad and it’s just a cycle that isn’t pleasant for anyone involved. What is positive parenting?Positive parenting is based on the thought that kids are inherently good and so they want to do the right thing, but may need to be guided that way. It’s about teaching without breaking their spirit and with understanding the logic behind the undesired behaviors and really looking at the way we parent that enables the kids to still feel loved and powerful. What are the benefits of Positive Parenting? Positive Parenting builds self esteem, autonomy, mutual respect and doesn’t result in anyone acting in emotion in the moment and feeling bad later. I believe it helps you to be thinking about the outcome that you want rather than having dominance or power. This can help you to stop yelling and joining their chaos, but rather bringing them to peace. The 5 R’s of Positive ParentingI heard these from Parenting Solutions on instagram, check out their page here. 1.) Be Respectful- Take away the blame, shame or pain when you are parenting. Make sure the consequence is fair. 3 core rules of the responsive approach are listed here. Want more on this? Check out this website. Respect yourselfRespect othersRespect your environment (surroundings)Have young kids? Exchange the word respect for "taking care of" and they will begin to understand. 2.) Be Related- Is the consequence related to the behavior? This will communicate a logical consequence that 3.) Reasonable in duration- Are you being fair? Working in extremes can result in a child giving

The Power of the Small Stuff
Our perception is that things only have value if we show up to them everyday in the same way and that we get the end result we desire. The reality is the process of starting something, despite not continuing or by showing up in a new way is good too. \n\n\n\n Instagram @controlthechaosmama

// Facebook lives freak you out? 3 MUST HAVE tips to showing up on video
Does the idea of going live on facebook, IG stories or the new IG Reels freak you out? Today I talk with Virginia Kerr, video and marketing coach and strategist and we talk about the 3 must have tips for showing up on video to build trust in your business. 3 MUST HAVES before you start and to jot down on a post it before you start! 1.) HOOK 2.) 3-5 BULLET POINTS TO TALK ABOUT 3.) CALL TO ACTION Why video? Going face to camera builds trust with your audience and increases the know, like and trust factor that makes them feel like they know you. Are you more likely to buy from a friend? Of course, you are. Storytelling on video Stories matter and allow people to connect. If you can identify the superpower in your story then you can connect more deeply with your audience and find your gift to help other people with your story and gifts. Confidence comes with Repetitive Practice Just start and practice will make you more comfortable. If you feel more confident putting on make up then that's great, but people love looking at the raw and vulnerability of IG stories because it's showing the real you. Be seen as a resource Share something that you DON'T sell and recommend in your stories once a day. This will help you to be seen as a resource and not like a salesman. You can talk about your product with confidence, but find a happy medium and recommend other things that you don't sell, but they could benefit from it. Where should I start if I'm afraid of video? Start with IG stories face to camera. It's only 15 second clips that you can use filters and stickers and GIFs to make it fun or even questions and tips that you can offer. You have the ability to delete a story if you mess up, and knowing that it's only out there for 24 hours helps you to feel more comfortable sharing. Why would people care to watch my video? Who would watch this? People need and crave connection. They want to be entertained, learn free tips, and feel connected to yo
// Focus on this ONE THING and you'll be a success! Plus 5 CORE DOMAINS that drive motivation and how to use them in your Facebook groups
By now we all know that once you complete one thing there is always another when it comes to business and mom life, but what if you could have this ONE THING at the core of what you do that could help you succeed in all the things. Yes, I'm talking about the thing that is critical to a successful business, motherhood, and marriage on today's podcast episode on Multipassionate Mompreneur. What is the ONE THING you need to succeed? The one thing we need to succeed is Connection. In the book, "Social: Why Our Brains Are Wired to Connect" we learn that from award-winning neurologist Matthew Lieberman on how social interaction and connection to others is more valuable than money and other extrinsic motivators. It's no new news that social interaction is important and we know that we are social creatures, but did you know this social aspect can relieve physical pain? As humans, we want to move from pain and towards pleasure so understanding this could help us to provide insight on how we run our businesses and validate the time inputted to connecting with people. Why is this information useful for online marketers? Knowing who you are serving and knowing their motivations is essential to generating leads and making sells, but it also will help you to make lasting connections in collaboration and growth as an entrepreneur. I believe that connection to yourself, others and God are the foundations on which we can feel centered and happier overall. What is that is the SCARF MODEL? The S.C.A.R.F motivation model is an easy way to remember the five major domains across which people are making assessments as to whether something is moving them closer to pleasure or to "good" stimuli or way from threats or "bad" stimuli. This model was developed by David Rock and is a brain-based model that is used as a tool to help people work effectively with one another and collaborate. The acronym "SCARF" stands for status, certainty, autonomy, relatedness, and

Are you in a rut? 10 ways to get UNSTUCK and reset a negative mindset
Covid. Time change. Colder weather >>OH MY! Did the vision of Dorothy going down the yellow brick road come to mind. "Lions, Tigers, Bears OH MY! haha seriously though as if Covid wasn't already putting fear and worry and stress onto us, we are compiling it now with coldness and darkness here in Ohio. It's making me feel like days are on a loop and just so in a rut. Wallow or Gratitude. Which do you choose? After I lost my mom in 2011, I found that I was in this hole of grief that felt like pushing a door closed with rushing water on the other side. I would push and push with all of my might so that no water could get through for fear that I would drown. I later learned that if I cracked the door, felt through the ick and experienced my emotions then it slowed the rate of the water and it allowed me to keep afloat. Holding this imaginary door closed is exhausting and eventually the water comes in, so why not crack the door. It's uncomfortable and sad and all the things, but so needed. First of all, don't get it twisted with this heading title. I don't think there is anything wrong with wallowing. In a way I feel like it's warranted from being strong too long or pushing past the days in some ways. Take a breath, a rest, cry in the shower or finally say "No" to adding more to your plate and then when you are all done stand up in gratitude with these 10 ways to get you back to you. In todays' episode you'll learn 10 ways to get unstuck and take that next right step. Negativity is natural and normal. It's easier to see what's going wrong then what is going right, but when you are ready to get back up I hope these tips help you. // DIET LIES DEBUNKED! HOW TO START TRUSTING YOURSELF WITH INTUITIVE EATING
What if I told you that you could ditch dieting and still make your goals? You could stop yo-yo dieting by doing just these few simple practices to start trusting yourself! What is Intuitive Eating? Its a way of making peace with food and recovering from the chronic dieting mentality associated with depriving yourself from food groups. This method was created by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch in 1995 and relies heavily on instinct, emotion and being more mindful of our thoughts. How to start? Ditch the diet mindset. No foods are now seen as good or bad. This helps you to eliminate the shame that comes from "going off your diet" or "restarting on monday." Listen to your bodies cues and slow down to listen. Remove weight loss from the equation and flip how you think about food. Connect with Alisha Alisha Carlson is a Non-Diet Lifestyle Coach and creator of The Mindful Eating Project. // THE SECRET BEHIND TURNING STRANGERS TO SUPERFANS AND TACTICAL TIPS TO BUILD COMMUNITY
Ever got tagged in a video or post along with 30 other people? How did it make you feel? My guess is that it didn't make you feel special, or seen or valued, right? We have to get rid of this idea that more is better. Sometimes we think that it will only be worth our time to do all that it takes to run a business or a facebook community or all the things involved in all this if we have a huge following. Part of this is because we want to know that our voice is reaching people and I get that. 1.) Care- how can you make someone feel seen and valued and special? You can ask them what they are struggling with and offer solutions by going into the DMs and asking. Yes take the time to send an individual message to that one person and care about the answer. 2.) Stick and Stay- You will reach any goal that you set before yourself if you just DECIDE you are doing this and develop a workflow and do the mundane stuff to help you to be consistent. People will be looking to see if you are someone that they can trust to be there even when it gets hard or boring or just not as fun. 3.) Be a human- Act and talk like a real person and not a scripted robot. Tactical things NOT TO DO: 1.) Don't change the name of your facebook group every other day. Yes, this will notify or remind people about your group, but it will also annoy the crap out of them. 2.) Don't tag 30 people in your live videos. Tactical things TO DO: 1.) SHOW YOUR FACE-Make a VOICE DM or even better a VIDEO and send to new friends or followers or new members of your group to welcome them to the group. I love the idea of set video and a personalized voice dm for double goodness. This also includes doing face to camera in your stories. 2.) RESPOND- Every person that comments on your content respond with a comment back, ideally a question. This builds trust and continues them to tune into your content. Are you an entrepreneur? Let's connect and build a community of support :) MUL

What are you created to do?Ask yourself this question and really take into account the skills you have, the life experiences that give you the authority to help others that haven’t been through the same hard stuff like you, and also your passions. What if you have many things you want to do?You can have many passions, but it’s more so doing “ONE THING” at a time. You can do it all, but you need to do it one thing at a time so that you can really zone on who you can help and attract them authentically. How do I grow an audience? To grow an audience you need to focus more on serving authentically and less on monetizing. You need to focus on your avatar and what they need and how to solve their problems and then you will have the audience to actually sell to and it’ll be what she wants. The secret to sales and profitability in your business is SERVICE and TRUST. How to build trust and serve my audience?Stefanie Gass built her audience in her Facebook group, Mompreneur Mastermind, and decided to use serve also with a podcast. Her podcast is a way to serve and then use the Facebook group and 1:1 coaching to implement with her avatar. This was the key to learning from her avatar and get your “LOLA,” as Stef c

What are the self sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that you are doing right now? What is Self Sabotage? Behaviors or thought patterns that are holding you back. Self sabotaging behaviors prevent you from getting what you want and undermine what your core values and goals. Our brain keeps us safe When we are being stretched for growth our brain can't differentiate that from a real threat to our well-being and so it takes these steps towards the unknown as scary and dangerous. This makes us more likely to step back and self sabotage our growth in favor of the comfortable and known. It's not your fault! We are wired this way. Take some of these steps to push past the fear and uncomfortable feelings and FEEL through them instead of run from them. Want to learn more about this stress response? Check out this article here for more information on this. Some self sabotage behaviors are: ProcrastinationPerfectionismProblem based thinking instead of solution based thinking (Click here for an episode on this)Over indulgenceComparisonitisImposter SyndromeFocusing on urgent tasks vs. important tasksSaying "I don't have time" or "I don't have money" or other limiting beliefs that are keeping you small.Using absolutes in your language like "never" or "always"What can I do if I am self sabotaging?Surround yourself with people who will pour belief in you. Reflect-Make time and space for you to have time alone, with God, to journal or to reflect on what you want, your big picture vision and get in alignment with your goals and core values or intentions. 7 TIPS TO MAKE MONEY AT HOME AND OVERCOME HURDLES TO PAY OFF OVER $36K IN ONE YEAR WITH HEATHER MCGUFFEY MESSY ACTION You don't have to have it all figured out to start. Get around people that foster a belief in yourself and get started. In the doing phase you will figure out if this is for you and if it's not that ok too. The answers are in the doing. PIVOT INSTEAD OF QUIT Sometimes we think that if something doesn't work right away that we need quit, but the goal didn't change did it? The path or way to get to the goal may change, but the goal didn't. Make the goal big enough to you so that you don't quit, but pivot instead. FOCUS ON THE CONTROLLABLES You can't control everything. You can control yourself and how you show up to each day and that's pretty much it. Once we surrender control over what we can't control then we can have the mindset to focus on what we can change and actually succeed. BE PATIENT Success can't be rushed.
