FMCA Gillette, WY - The Good, Bad and really really bad.

When we first got our RV Four Years Ago I thought FMCA was the be all of RV clubs. For years I've seen the plates on the back of RV's and was proud when we got our numbers to display. Fast forward to today and it's a really disapointing organization. In this video we discuss our recent visit to FMCA in Gillette, Wyoming and tell you about our disapointments.

WHAT IS A SHUNT AND WHY DO YOU NEED ONE FOR YOUR RV? | RV Electrical House Batteries

A Shunt is a device that measures total AMPS used from your battery. In this video we discuss why it's important not to run your battery below a certain point and the damage that will occur. The Shunt will help you monitor you batteries and save you hundreds of dollars.

YELLOWSTONE GRIZZLY RV PARK - Campground Review

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park is located close to the West Entrance of Yellowstone, Montana and walking distance to the small town of West Yellowstone. Big rig friendly and well maintained, this is a great location for taking in the sites of Yellowstone National Park.

The park is pet friendly with pet stations located throughout the park. Lots of green grass (at least in September when we were here) and beautifully maintained sites. West Yellowstone is located at 6600 feet above sea level, so nights were already in the 30's when we were here.

Yellowstone National Park west entrance gate is only four short blocks away, with dining, shopping and attractions within easy walking distance. Just a couple blocks away are the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, IMAX Theatre, Museum and Historic Center as well as the exciting aerial ropes adventure course.

West Yellowstone is situated within a short driving distance to many beautiful points of interest inside Yellowstone National Park and the nearby Gallatin National Forest. The numerous lakes, streams and rivers in the area offer some of the best fly fishing in the United States. Other outdoor activities in the area include horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, float trips and guided tours of Yellowstone Park.

SHERIDAN BIG HORN KOA - Campground Review

We spent 2 summers workcamping at this campgound. The Sheridan Big Horn KOA is a picturesque destination nestled in the heart of the stunning Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. Situated amidst lush forests, tranquil streams, and panoramic vistas, the Sheridan Big Horn KOA provides a serene backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities.

The campground features a range of accommodation options, from spacious RV sites with full hookups to cozy cabins equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Most sites are pull thru, making it a great place for a one-night stay.

SHELL FALLS - BIG HORN MTNS SCENIC BYWAY

Join us as we tour Shell Falls, located about an hour and 20 minutes from the small town of Sheridan, WY. We'll also stop in the towns of Ranchester and Dayton which are on the way into the Big Horn National Forest.

Shell Falls is a captivating natural wonder nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Wyoming, USA. This enchanting waterfall, a gem within the Bighorn National Forest, beckons travelers with its awe-inspiring beauty and tranquil surroundings. Cascading gracefully down a series of jagged rock formations, Shell Falls mesmerizes onlookers as crystal-clear water glistens in the sunlight, forming delicate mist that dances in the air. The falls, with its captivating height and thunderous roar, serve as a testament to the unrelenting force of nature and the patient passage of time.

RV camping can be a thrilling and rewarding experience, offering the freedom to explore the great outdoors while enjoying the comforts of home on wheels. However, for both novice and seasoned campers, there are several common mistakes that can turn this idyllic getaway into a frustrating ordeal. From improper planning to overlooking essential maintenance, these blunders can easily transform a dream vacation into a nightmare. Recognizing and avoiding these RV campground mistakes is crucial to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey.

As workcampers we see just about every kind of mistake that RV'ers make when at a campground. In this video we discuss some of the most common that we see. There are many more mistakes that we discuss in some of our other videos.

For example: Neglecting routine maintenance can lead to unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs while on the road. Essential tasks include checking tire pressure, inspecting brakes, servicing the engine and generator, and ensuring all systems are in proper working order. A well-maintained RV not only enhances safety but also guarantees a more enjoyable and trouble-free camping experience.

Furthermore, misjudging the power requirements of an RV can lead to significant campground mistakes. Many campers assume that all campgrounds provide ample electrical hookups, only to discover that the available power supply is insufficient for their needs. Overloading circuits can result in blown fuses and even damage to the RV's electrical system. To prevent this, it's crucial to know your RV's power requirements, invest in appropriate adapters, and confirm the electrical capacity of your chosen campground.

Additionally, failing to respect campground etiquette can quickly sour the experience for both campers and fellow travelers. Noise disturbances, improper waste disposal, and disregard for quiet hours can create tension and discomfort among neighboring campers. Respecting campground rules and practicing common courtesy ensures a harmonious and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Mismanaging resources is another notable mistake. Some campers underestimate their water and waste disposal needs, leading to potential shortages or inconvenient trips to refill and dump stations.
