Do you have plans from March to September in 2026? We'd love to have you as our Scientists-in-Parks Intern! 🥾

Duties include sea turtle nesting patrols, nest management and evaluation, and processing of stranded turtles; shorebird nest and chick monitoring; invasive plant data collection; water quality monitoring; and more! 🐢 The SIP participant will develop and deliver science-based interpretive programs to the visiting public on a scheduled basis, as well as assist with a series of nature camps for kids. They will also assist with the park's social media outreach efforts by preparing educational information for posting. This is a paid position, and housing will be provided by the park.

📣 St. Johns County Announces Ceremony to Celebrate the $1 Million State Appropriation for the Florida Black History Museum

St. Johns County will host a ceremony and $1 million state appropriation check presentation for the Florida Museum of Black History project to be built in St. Augustine.

📍 Collier-Blocker-Puryear Park Complex, 10 N. Holmes Blvd.

The $1 million state allocation is for Phase I planning and design of the Museum and will be administered through the Florida Department of State.

The Fall Fling Family Festival presented by Fiesta Falls Miniature Golf will take place on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club, with the goal of raising $10,000 for the new Clean Start laundry facilities at the Goff Family Shelter, currently under construction.

This facility, with 37 beds, will shelter families with minor children... providing stability and a safe place to rebuild their lives as they work toward permanent housing. The festival will be a lively, family-friendly community event featuring:

🍔Food trucks serving a variety of food options
🎨Kids’ activities, including games, crafts, and inflatables

Funds raised will directly support the Clean Start Laundry facility, giving families a space to do laundry, start fresh in and build a path forward.
