One of many highlights of the Class of 2018 Graduation was one action of Tom Gruman. Riley Paulson was unable to attend graduation as he is currently serving in the military. Tom used his cell phone to FaceTime Riley so he could be part of the ceremony. When Class Secretary Rachel Davies read his name and reason he was not there, the families in attendance gave him a very loud round of applause for his service. Riley was able to hear that respect.

Highway 21 closure scheduled June 6-8, Wyeville

Highway 21 in the Village of Wyeville will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing Wednesday through Friday (June 6-8) for repairs to the crossing. Highway 21 through traffic must use alternate routes. The posted state highway detour route will use WIS 173 and WIS 80.

The work, which is being performed by Union Pacific, will begin at 5 a.m. on Wednesday and is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday.

Through 9 PM, strong to severe thunderstorms will continue across parts of northeast Iowa and southwest into west-central Wisconsin. In addition to heavy downpours and lightning, the strongest storms will be capable of producing quarter size hail and wind gusts to 60 mph. If you have outdoor plans, be prepared to quickly move indoors. Remember if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning!
