🏀FINAL: La Cueva 67 Albuquerque High 53

This game was a first round match-up in the Metro Tournament which started today. The winner would move on to play Cleveland on Wednesday.

The game started out with both sides feeling for a rythm. Each side was able to execute until La Cueva was able to jump ahead by 5-points at halftime.

The second half saw La Cueva pull away with consistent drives by Cam Dyer. Albuquerque High struggled to find offense against the bigger Bears.

By the fourth period, La Cueva was cruising with a double-digit lead. The Bulldogs weren't able to mount a comeback. La Cueva moves on to the second round.

It would take an almost perfectly played game from Navajo Prep to defeat the #1 Ranked Hornets tonight in Rio Rancho for the first round of the Jalene Berger Allstate Holiday Tournament. Even 49pts from Jesus Licon wouldnt be enough for the Hornets as critical mistakes down the stretch cut the comeback short. The Hornets would fight back being down 29-46 at Halftime and going in to the 4th quarter with just as big of a deficit. After cutting the lead down to 6 the Hornets would miss a few layups and free throws down the stretch and Navajo Prep would pull off a great first round win. The Hornets find themselves on the loser side of the bracket for the 2nd time in 2 tournaments this season. Final Score Navajo Prep 81 Hornets 72.
