I am passionate about fostering a deep love and understanding of music to help my students achieve their musical aspirations. A little about me -
Music, particularly the piano, has been a mainstay in my life. Since that time music has always been there for me. No matter what came my way, I’ve always had the feeling of accomplishment and self-worth that music provided for me. It is a love and abi
lity that has been faithful in all circumstances. Although every musician may not have the same experiences with music, I know that learning music will only add value to a person’s life. It is for this reason I teach: to give students a chance to develop a relationship with an art that inspires, entertains, and even consoles for a lifetime. No matter what path one takes in life, music will ultimately play a positive role for those who desire to know it in a personal way. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students of all ages, though I am most effective teaching the beginner through late intermediate levels. I believe learning can be fun, challenging, hard, and or frustrating. Because learning is primarily a joy for me, I am determined to demonstrate that joy in my teaching. When I correct a student I do my best to do so in an encouraging and positive manner that motivates the student to grow. I want my students to know that I look forward to teaching them. I will encourage my students to be exposed to a variety of music by attending local concerts, performances, recitals, and listening to recordings. I believe it is important for students to share their music through performing in recitals, festivals and other opportunities that may arise. Performing builds confidence and gives an understanding of what it means to share music in a way that cannot be taught in a private lesson alone. It can take time, effort, good practice habits, and the realization of self-worth to achieve things in life that are worthwhile. I strive to help my students learn these invaluable lessons and accomplish their goals. My hope is that my students will develop and nurture a lifelong relationship with music.
